For gross contamination, immediately drench with water and remove clothing. Continue to flush skin
and hair with plenty of water (and soap if material is insoluble). For skin burns, cover with a clean, dry
dressing until medical help is available. If blistering occurs, do NOT break blisters. If swelling,
redness, blistering, or irritation occurs seek medical assistance.

Immediately irrigate with copious quantities of water for 15 minutes. Eyelids to be held open. Remove
clothing if contaminated and wash skin. Urgently seek medical assistance. Transport to hospital or

HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
HEALTH EFFECTS:
Acute:
Swallowed: Fine material may irritate mucous membranes of mouth,
oesophagus and stomach.
Eye: Mild irritant.
Skin: Mild irritant.
Inhaled: Irritating to upper respiratory tract. Exposure may accentuate pre-
existing conditions such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
Chronic:
Swallowed: Not applicable.
Eye: Not applicable.
Skin: Prolonged exposure may cause drying of the skin. Exposure may
accentuate any pre-existing skin conditions.
Inhaled: Overexposure to respirable dust may cause coughing, wheezing,
leading to difficulty on breathing and even impaired pulmonary
function. Studies have shown that long-term exposure to
respirable crystalline silica may cause silicosis and scarring of
lung tissue. Smoking may increase risk.
FIRST AID:
Swallowed: Wash mouth and lips with water do NOT induce vomiting. Give a
glass of water to dilute stomach contents.
Eye: Irrigate eye with copious quantities of water for 10-15 minutes.
Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Skin: Remove dusty clothing wash skin with soap and water.
Inhaled: If dust is inhaled. Remove from contaminated area. Seek medical
attention if irritation occurs.
ADVICE TO DOCTOR: Treat symptomatically.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
EXPOSURE LIMITS:
10 mg/m3 TWA as inspirable dust crystalline

ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Ventilation must be adequate to ensure that the working
environment is below the TWA value.
PERSONAL PROTECTION: Safety glasses should be worn if dust is likely to be generated. If
used in poorly ventilated or very confined spaces a Standard
disposable dust mask or a respiratory protection mask fitted with a
type P filter should be used that complies with AS 1716

Respiratory Devices and used in accordance with AS 1715 which
describes use and maintenance.
Person with a history of respiratory illness or reduced pulmonary
function should avoid places with high dust levels. When cutting or
abrading the hardened material manufactured from or with sand
and aggregate, keep it wetted with water to avoid creating
hazardous dust. Do not breathe this dust as it may contain various
quantities of crystalline silica.
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
STORAGE & TRANSPORT: Store in dry location.
SPILLS & DISPOSAL: Minor spills - clean up all spills immediately
Use dry clean up procedure and avoid generating dusts.
If exposure to workplace dust is not controlled, respirators fitted
with Type P filter is recommended. Vacuum up or sweep up.
Major spills - Minor hazard - clear area of personnel and move
upwind. Use dry clean up procedure. Avoid generating dust.
If inhalation risk of exposure exists, wear approved dust respirator
fitted with Type P filter.
Sweep up excess and dispose of at an approved waste disposal
site.
FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD: This product is non-flammable and does not cause dust explosion.
