Section 3. Hazardous Identification
Inhalation Acute Exposure Effects: Dust may be slightly irritating to eyes and respiratory tract at high concentrations.
Eye Contact Acute Exposure Effects: Dust may irritate eyes.
Skin Contact Acute Exposure Effects: Some may experience skin irritation from dust.
Ingestion Acute Exposure Effects: No known adverse effects but ingestion should be avoided.
Medical Conditions Generally Recognized as Being Aggravated by Exposure:
May aggravate existing respiratory problems.
Dust generated from the intended use of this product may contain trace amounts of inorganic fluorides. Excessive exposure
to fluorides has been shown in NIOSH studies to increase bone density. Dust generated from the intended use of this product
may contain trace levels of phenolic resins which may under excessive exposure cause skin sensitization and airway
obstruction.
Section 4. First Aid Measures
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breating has stopped, give artificial respiration. Get Medical attention immediately.
Eye Contact: Wash with large amounts of water. Obtain first aid and medical assistance, if needed.
Skin Contact: Wash affected areas with soap and water. If irritation persists, obtain medical assistance.
Ingestion: Obtain medical assistance and call poison control center.
Section 5. Fire Fighting Measures
Fire Fighting Procedures: N/A
Hazardous Products/Combustion: None
Fire & Explosion Hazard Data
Flash Point: Not Applicable
Flammable Limits: LEL: Not Applicable UEL: Not Applicable
Extinguishing Media: Water, foam or CO2
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Toxic fumes are evolved on buring.
Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazards: Fumes from burning cured Phenol/formaldehyde resin contain
trace formaldehyde which can cause eye, nose and throat irritation.
Section 6. Accidental Release Measures
Clean-up: Follow normal Clean up procedures.

Section 7. Handling And Storage
Precautions for Safe Handling and Use

Spills or leaks: Collect and pick up materials following normal precautions for inert nuisance dusts>
Disposal: Standard landfill methods consistent with applicable federal, state and local laws.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and as per ANSI B7.1
Normal Usage: Observe recommended running speeds. Provide adequate ventilation for nuisance dusts.
Also see ANSI B7.1
Section 8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
Ventilation Protection: Handle with adequate ventilation. See OSHA 29 CFR 1910.94 (ventilation) and 29 CFR 1910.1000 (Air Contaminants)
Respiratory Protection: Respirators are required when airborne contaminant levels exceed the TLV (s).
Eye Protection: Always WEAR SAFETY GLASSES or some type of eye protection when grinding.
Other Protection: Exercise good personal hygiene. Hearing protection may be required. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 & other applicable regulations)
(see

Section 9. Physical and Chemical Properties
Specific Gravity: 1.8 to 4.0
Odor: No detectable Odor
Appearance: Light or medium grey, brown or black colored, porous solid.
Solubility in Water: Insoluable to sight.
Section 10. Reactivity Data
Incompatabilities: Avoid acids of all types with a pH <4.0
Decomposition Products: During use, dust and decomposing organic fumes are generated which may contain trace amounts of phenol,
formaldehyde and fluorides, if present. In most cases, the material removed from the workpiece will be significantly
greater than the grinding wheel components. Coolants or other surface residues may produce decomposition products.
Conditions to be avoided: No applicable information found.
Section 11 Toxicological Information
Carcinogenicity: Fiberglass contained in wheels have fiber diameters > 10 um, therefore considered non-respiral.
Inhalation Chronic Exposure Effects: Chronic, may effect breathing.
LD50/LC50: Values are not appropriate or available.
Section 12. Ecological Information
Chemical Fate: Resin Bonded materials demonstrate similar degradation rates as phenolic plastics.
Section 13. Disposal Considerations
Waste Disposal: Use standard landfill methods consistent with applicable federal, State, Provincial and local laws. Products with
listed fluorides may have slightly soluble fluoride swarf.
Section 14. Transport Information
Hazard Class: This product is not hazardous as defined by the Department of Transportation. (USA). This product is "Not Regulated"
under the Transportation of Dangerous Good Act. (CAN).
Section 15. Regulatory Information
Exposure Limits/Regulatory Information:
CA Prop 65: This product contains chemicals, and Formaldehyde, known to the state of California to cause cancer.
TSCA: Section 8 (b) - Inventory Status: All components of this product are registered under the regulation of the Toxic Substance
Control Act.
Domestic Substance List: All components of this product are found on the Domestic Substance List.
