HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
HEALTH EFFECTS
Acute - Ingestion If ingested in sufficient quantity may cause nausea, vomiting
and diarrhoea.
Acute - Eye May cause irritation and serious eye damage. Symptoms may
include stinging, tearing, redness, swelling and blurred vision.
Acute - Skin May cause skin drying and irritation.
Acute - Inhalation Supplied as liquid, if dust is created from the dried product it
may be irritant to nose, throat and upper respiratory tract.
Chronic
Compliance with the dust exposure standard for the dried
product should prevent impairment of respiratory function even
over many years of exposure (NOHSC Exposure Standards,
14.26-14.29, 1995)
FIRST AID
Ingestion Drink water do not induce vomiting.
Eye Flush continuously with water for 15 minutes, Eyelids to be
held open, do not rub eyes.
Skin If skin becomes irritated remove clothing wash areas of
contact with soap and water. Using a skin cream or lotion may
be helpful in reducing irritation.
Inhalation Remove exposed person to fresh air.
ADVICE TO DOCTOR
Advice to Doctor Treat symptomatically for irritant effects of liquid or dust.

Engineering Controls Where possible use local exhaust ventilation for handling dried
product.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
Respiratory Protection For the dried product, a half-face (P1 or P2) respirator should
be worn during work in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces,
or where evidence suggests that dust levels may exceed the
exposure standard. All respiratory devices should be tested for
compliance with AS/NZS 1715 & AS/NZS 1716.
Eye Protection Safety glasses, goggles or faceshield as appropriate.
Glove Type Rubber or PVA.
Clothing Overalls or similar protective apparel.
Footwear Safety footwear as appropriate.

Storage and Transport Store in a cool dry place. No special transport requirements.
SPILLS AND DISPOSAL
Spills and Leaks
Contain liquid spills within a bund, use absorbent such as soil,
sand, sawdust or vermiculite. Pick up large quantities with a
shovel and place in containers.
Waste Disposal Waste should be placed in containers, plastic bags or other
methods which prevent liquid or dust emission, and
disposed of in accordance with the local waste disposal
authority requirements.

Fire/Explosion Hazard Not flammable and not explosive.
