Section 3: HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Appearance, form, odor: Clear, light-red viscous liquid with aromatic odor
Route of Entry: Inhalation, Ingestion, Skin Absorption
2
Target Organ: Amines contained in product are an eye, respiratory, and skin irritant, skin and respiratory
sensitizer.
Inhalation: May cause nasal, throat irritation with a choking sensation. Neurological disturbances,
pneumonitis, headache, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur after extreme
exposure.
Skin Contact: Direct contact may cause severe irritation, sore throat, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Eye Contact: Vapors may cause irritation and conjunctivitis. Direct contact may cause irritation, pain,
lacrimation, and possible corneal damage and opacity.
Ingestion: Direct contact may cause severe irritation, sore throat, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation: Move victim to fresh air. If breathing is difficult administer oxygen. If breathing has
stopped, perform artificial respiration. If irritation occurs, seek medical attention.
Skin Contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes and get
medical attention. Remove all contaminated clothing. If irritation occurs, seek medical
attention.
Eye Contact: Flush eye with clean water for at least 15 minutes while gently holding eyelids open.
Seek medical attention immediately after flushing.
Ingestion: Consult a physician immediately. DO NOT induce vomiting. Remove by gastric lavage.
Medical conditions aggravated by exposure:
Any respiratory or skin condition.
SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media: CO2, Dry Chemical, Foam and Sand. Do not use water on fire, but only to cool sealed
containers.
Flash Point (F): Method:
>220掳 F Abel Pensky
Explosive limits in air (percent): Lower: Upper:
--- N/D N/D
Avoid breathing toxic and irritating vapors. If exposed to a heat source, closed containers can build pressure leading
to a sudden release. As in any fire, wear a pressure demand MSHA / NIOSH approved self-contained breathing
apparatus (SCBA), and full protective bunker gear. For large fires, apply foam according to manufacturer鈥檚
specifications. For small fires, utilize carbon dioxide or dry chemical extinguishers. Keep containers cool by
applying water spray.
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Spill control: Ventilate area. Avoid breathing vapors. Remove any ignition sources. Avoid eye and skin
contact.
Containment: Wipe, scrape with non-sparking tools, or soak up inert material such as dry sand or earth, and put
in an approved chemical waste container for disposal.

Cleanup: Avoid and prevent runoff into storm drains and ditches. Spilled materials should be contained and
disposed of in accordance with local and federal statutes. Spilled material is extremely slippery
and may cause a slip hazard during cleanup.
SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling Precautions: Keep container closed when not in use.
Storage Requirements: Store between 60 F and 85 F. Avoid contact with moisture and excessive heat. Store
away from potential physical damage, ignition sources, and incompatible materials such as
oxidizers and strong acids.
SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls: Provide exhaust ventilation to maintain vapor and mist concentrations in air below
exposure limits.
Personal Protective
Equipment: Respiratory Protection
For locations where levels may exceed established exposure limits by no more than a
factor of ten, trained users should utilize proper NIOSH / MSHA (or equivalent)
approved air purifying respirators equipped with organic vapor cartridges with mist pre-
filters. For concentrations higher than the protection capabilities of air purifying
respirators, supplied air respiratory protection is required. All respiratory protection
should be used in accordance with 29 CFR, OSHA 1910.134 Respiratory Protection.
Eye Protection
Avoid contact with eyes. For liquid splash protection utilize chemical goggles, or a full
face splash shield. If fine aerosolized mist is present, utilize a full-face respirator.
Provide an eye wash station within 10 seconds travel time from user.
Skin Protection
Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing, rubber boots, and gloves made of nitrile or
neoprene. Refer to manufacture information for specific information regarding chemical
resistance.
