Extinguishing Media: Copper Chloride does not burn nor will it support
combustion.
Special Fire Fighting Instructions: If evaporated and dry, residue is heated above 600 o
F C Cl 2 + HCl is evolved.
Fire and Explosion Hazards: None.
SECTION V. REACTIVITY DATA
Stability: Reacts with bases to cause exothermic release.
Conditions to Avoid: Bases, cellulose, starch, paper, metals, hydrazine
and nitromethane.

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Hydrochloric Acid
Polymerization: Will not occur.
SECTION VI. HEALTH AND HAZARD INFORMATION
Swallowing: Toxic orally in accordance with FHSLA
regulations. Will cause burns of the mouth and
throat.
Skin : Short single exposure may cause severe skin burns.
Eyes: Corrosive in accordance with FHSLA regulations.
Eye irritation. May cause severe irritation with
corneal injury and result in permanent impairment
of vision or even blindness.
Inhalation: Inhalation of mist may cause irritation to upper
respiratory tract.
This product contains Copper Chloride subject to the reporting requirements of Section
13 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act of 1986 (40 CFR
372).
SECTION VII. FIRST AID PROCEDURES
Swallowing: Give large amounts of milk or water. Do not induce
vomiting. Call Poison Control Center or a
physician. Never give anything to an unconscious
person.
Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Call a
physician if irritation persists. Remove and wash
contaminated clothing before reuse. Remove and
destroy contaminated shoes.
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for 15
minutes. Hold eyelids apart during irrigation. Call a
physician.

Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air and call a physician. If
not breathing, administer artificial respiration. Get
medical attention.
SECTION VIII. HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Chemical safety goggles. Rubber gloves and rubber
apron may be worn.
Ventilation: Use positive ventilation.
SECTION IX. ENVIRONMENTAL AND DISPOSAL INFORMATION
Aquatic Toxicity: Copper compounds are very toxic to aquatic life.
Spills and Leaks: Comply with Federal, State, and local regulations
on reporting spills. Do not wash away the solution.
Recover. If product is in a confined solution, react
with Soda Ash to form an insoluble Copper
Carbonate solid that can be scooped up.
Waste Disposal: Do not reuse container. Comply with Federal,
State, and local regulations. Vacuum up solutions or
scoop up insoluble Copper Carbonate and dispose
of in an approved landfill.
Environmental Effects: May be dangerous if it enters the public water
systems. Follow local regulations. Toxic to fish and
plants.
SECTION X. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Storage: Store in plastic drums or plastic storage tank.
Other Precautions: All precautions should be taken to prevent skin and
eye contact with this material. Design of equipment
and operational procedures should be such that the
possibility of skin and eye contact does not exist.
