Preparation Hazards and
Hazard Communication Evaluation.
Classification:
Canada: This is not a controlled product under WHMIS.

White liquid with a mild odor.
Appearance, Color and Odor:

Inhalation, Eye contact, Skin contact
Primary Route(s) of Exposure:

Potential Health Effects: ACUTE (short term): see Section 8 for exposure controls.
Inhalation: No inhalation hazards associated with the liquid product. Mists from spraying
operations may cause irritation of the respiratory tract. Dusts released into the air from
sanding of the dried product may cause temporary irritation of the mucous membranes and
upper respiratory tract. Symptoms such as shortness of breath, coughing and sneezing may
occur.
Ingestion: May cause temporary irritation of the throat, stomach and gastrointestinal tract.
Skin: May cause dryness or irritate skin.
Eyes: Direct contact may cause irritation.

CHRONIC (long term): see Section 11 for additional toxicological data.
Inhalation: This product contains crystalline silica. Sanding the dried product may release
crystalline silica into the air. Long-term overexposure to crystalline silica causes silicosis, a
form of pulmonary fibrosis. Continued overexposure to silica can lead to cardiopulmonary
impairment. Crystalline silica has been reviewed by IARC and found sufficient evidence in
humans for the carcinogenicity of inhaled crystalline silica in the form of quartz or cristobalite
from occupational sources.
