cause irritation to nose and respiratory tract. High vapor
concentrations may cause narcosis with dizziness, headache and
drowsiness. Repeated exposures to 6-12 ppm has produced mild
symptoms of central nervous system injury. Other effects
reported include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and
insomnia.
SKIN CONTACT:

exposure may cause sensitization with dermatitis, laryngeal edema
and serum sickness with lymph node enlargement and joint pain
and swelling.
For 100% PYRIDINE (this solution contains ~19-21%): Direct contact
with liquid may cause severe irritation, pain or burns. Repeated
exposure may cause dermatitis.

liquid may cause irritation and corneal damage. The liquid may
penetrate the intact corneal epithelium and cause iritis. Repeated or
prolonged exposure may cause conjunctivitis.
INGESTION:
For TETRAHYDROFURAN: May cause gastrointestinal irritation, sore
throat, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and dullness.
Aspiration may occur and cause severe lung irritation and possibly
delayed chemical pnuemonitis. Repeated or prolonged exposure
have been reported to cause liver and kidney damage.
For 100% IODINE: (this solution contains ~2.3-2.8%): Ingestion may
cause inflammation and corrosion of the gastrointestinal tract with
brown discoloration of the lips and mucous membranes, a burning
sensation, nausea, severe vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain,
intense thirst, metallic taste, fever, delirium and stupor. The
median lethal dose reported in man is 2-4 grams. Pathogenic
findings include glomerular and tubular necrosis. Repeated or
prolonged ingestion may cause iodism.
For 100% PYRIDINE (this solution contains ~19-21%): A small dose
may cause mild anorexia, nausea, fatigue and mental depression.
