3. Hazards Identification
Routes of Entry:

Skin Contact: Yes Eye Contact: Yes Ingestion: Yes Inhalation: Yes

Emergency Overview: Corrosive Material. May cause eye and skin burns. Symptoms may be delayed.
Ingestion will cause burns to the mouth, throat, and esophagus. If ingested, this product is an aspiration
hazard. Aspiration into the lungs is serious and may be fatal due to pulmonary edema.

Acute Health Effects: Inhalation: Severely irritating to the upper respiratory tract if inhaled as a mist, or if
product is heated to produce vapours. High concentrations of mists will cause burning of the mucous
membranes, nasal passages and upper respiratory tract. Skin Contact: Corrosive to skin. Causes burns
which may be delayed. Eye Contact: Extremely corrosive to the eyes. Causes immediate burning, but total
effect may be delayed up to 24 hours. Ingestion: If ingested, gastrointestinal upset may occur. Ingestion will
cause burning of the mouth, throat, and upper respiratory tract. Aspiration into the lungs may cause
pulmonary edema, which in severe cases, may cause death.

Chronic Health Effects: Due to the recommendation not have this material contact the skin or eyes, it is
anticipated that there should be no chronic effects. Acute effects may be so severe that prolonged contact is
impossible.

Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure: Persons who are pre-disposed to skin problem eye
problems or impaired respiratory function may be more susceptible to the effects of this product.

4. First Aid Measures
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes while retracting the eyelids. Irrigation of the
eye should continue while transport to a medical facility is occurring. Care should be taken not to cross
contaminate eyes. Seek immediate medical attention.

Skin Contact: Wash affected area of the body with soap and water for at least 15 minutes to remove
residue. Launder clothing before reuse. If an irritation develops, seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air, and give artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. Oxygen
should only be administered by a trained attendant. Seek immediate medical attention.

Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth if victim is rapidly losing consciousness. Have victim rinse mouth
thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting. Dilute contents of stomach with 240 to 300 ml of water. If
vomiting occurs naturally have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration. Seek immediate medical
attention.

5. Fire Fighting Measures

Sensitivity to Impact:

Smart Surface Technologies Inc. -2- August 1, 2007
Sentinella 2 Part Epoxy

Sensitivity to Static Discharge: Not sensitive.
Oxides of carbon, reactive hydrocarbons
Hazardous Combustion Products:

Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, Foam, or any Class B agent. Use water fog to cool
containers below flash point. Do not use a water stream.

Fire Fighting Instructions: Evacuate area and fight fire from a safe distance or a protected location.
Approach fire from upwind to avoid hazardous vapours and toxic decomposition products. Do not enter
confined fire space without proper personal protection. Use approved positive pressure self-contained
breathing apparatus. If possible, isolate materials not yet involved in the fire, and move containers from fire
area if this can be done without risk, and protect personnel. Otherwise, fire-exposed containers or tanks
should be cooled by application of hose streams and this should begin as soon as possible and should
concentrate on any unwetted portions of the container.

6. Accidental Release Measures
Personal Protection: See Section 8

Environmental Precautions: For small spills, dike to protect from contamination of natural waterways or
sewers.

Cleanup Procedures: Remove all sources of ignition. Absorb onto vermiculite or other suitable absorbent
and place into approved containers for legal disposal.

7. Handling and Storage
Handling Procedures: Avoid any contact with skin or eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapours. Do not pressurize,
cut, weld, braze, solder, grind, drill, or expose containers to heat or sources of ignition. Store in closed
containers in a well ventilated, dry, cool area. If exposed to heat, containers may expand, eventually
exploding. Use good hygiene practices when handling this material. Wash hands before eating, drinking, or
smoking.

Storage: Store away from oxidizers and ignition sources in a well ventilated cool place. Keep container
closed when not in use.

8. Exposure Controls, Personal Protection

Engineering Controls: General ventilation is recommended when using this product. Local exhaust may be
necessary when Threshold Limit Values (TLV's) are exceeded.

Respiratory Protection: Use appropriate respirator protection if there is any potential to exceed the
exposure limits (See Section 2). Determine the appropriate type by consulting the respirator manufacturer.
Skin Protection: Gloves: Impervious rubber, vinyl, or neoprene is recommended. Clothing: Impervious
coveralls or other outer garments.

Eye and Face Protection: Wear eye/face protection such as chemical splash-proof goggles or face shield.

Footwear: Wear foot protection as requires by worksite.

Other: Eye wash station should be located near work area.
