Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Give water to rinse out mouth, then 3 to 4 glasses of water to
drink. If vomiting occurs, lean patient forward or place on left side (head-down position, if
possible) to maintain open airway and prevent aspiration. Never give liquid to a person
showing signs of being sleepy or with reduced awareness; i.e. becoming unconscious.
Seek immediate medical advice.

Eyes: While holding eyes open, gently flood with plenty of fresh water for 15 minutes. Ensure
complete irrigation of the eye by keeping eyelids apart and away from eye and moving
the eyelids by occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. If irritation persists or recurs
seek medical attention. Skilled personnel should only undertake removal of contact
lenses after an eye injury.
Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing. Flush contacted area thoroughly with soap and plenty
of water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Inhalation: If fumes or combustion products are inhaled remove casualty from contaminated area.
Lay patient down. Keep warm and rested. Apply artificial respiration if not breathing,
preferably with a demand valve resuscitator, bag-valve mask device, or pocket mask as
trained. Perform CPR if necessary. Transport to hospital, or doctor, without delay.
First aid facilities: Ensure availability of clean water for eye/skin wash.
Advice to doctor: Treat symptomatically.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable extinguishing As per surrounding fire.
media:
Hazards from combustion Heat may cause water fractions to boil leading to expansion or decomposition
products: with violent rupture of containers. Decomposes on heating and may produce
toxic fumes of carbon oxides and smoke.
Precautions and equipment Combustible liquid. Flash point >70篊. Avoid heat and ignition sources. Wear
for fire fighters: breathing apparatus plus protective clothing. Prevent, by any means
available, spillage from entering drains or watercourses. Use fire-fighting
procedures suitable for surrounding area. DO NOT approach containers
suspected to be hot. Cool fire exposed containers with water spray from a
protected location. If safe to do so, remove containers from path of fire.
Equipment should be thoroughly decontaminated after use.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Methods for clean up / collecting: Stop leak if safe to do so. Large spills should be bunded to prevent
spread. Small or major spills should be adsorbed with dry, inert filler
such as soil, vermiculite or sand, which then can be shovelled into
appropriately labelled drums for disposal. DO NOT use sawdust. Wash
area and prevent runoff into drains or waterways.
Environmental precautions: Prevent spillage from entering drains or waterways. If contamination of
drains or waterways occurs, advise emergency services.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Conditions for safe storage
Location: Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Store away from incompatible
materials and foodstuff containers. Store away from sources of heat or
ignition. Protect containers against physical damage and check regularly for
leaks.
Protection from weather: Store undercover out of direct sunlight and away from frost and moisture.
Storage incompatibilities: DO NOT USE brass, copper, aluminium, galvanised or tin-plated containers
or stirrers. Segregate from strong oxidising agents, acids and alkalis.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Exposure standards: None assigned.
Engineering controls: Natural ventilation should be adequate under normal use conditions. If used in a
confined space or if the material is heated, use exhaust or forced air ventilation or
self contained breathing apparatus. State regulations on speed and direction of
airflow away from operators must be observed. Keep containers closed when not
in use.
Respiratory protection: Avoid breathing vapours. Select and use respirators in accordance with AS/NZS
1715/1716. The use of a half face organic vapour with combined P1 (dust/mist)
respirator with replaceable filters is recommended. Filter capacity and respirator
type depends on exposure levels and type of contaminant. For confined spaces,
self contained breathing apparatus should be used.
Glove type: Barrier cream with neoprene or nitrile rubber gauntlets.
Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields or chemical goggles or a face shield.
Clothing: Overalls or similar to provide skin protection.

Other: Use barrier creams to protect skin from contact with the material. Always wash
hands before smoking, eating, drinking or using the toilet and after finishing work.
Observe the usual precautions when handling chemicals.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Hazard of use/storage: Stable under normal storage, use and application temperatures.
Materials to avoid: Strong oxidising agents, acids and alkalis.
Hazardous Polymerisation: Will not occur.
Hazardous decomposition products: When heated to decomposition, may produce fumes of carbon and
nitrogen oxides. May emit acrid smoke.

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET
Acute
Ingestion: Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments. The liquid is
discomforting to the gastro-intestinal tract and may be harmful if swallowed in large quantity.
Ingestion may result in irritation to the tongue and lips, nausea, abdominal irritation, pain,
vomiting and diarrhoea.
Eye: The liquid is discomforting to the eyes and is capable of causing tearing, pain, stinging and
blurred vision. Depending on severity and duration of contact, eye damage may occur. Seek
medical advice.
Skin: The liquid is discomforting to the skin if exposure is prolonged and may cause skin
sensitisation. Sensitisation may result in allergic dermatitis responses including rash, itching,
and hives or swelling extremities. Bare unprotected skin should not be exposed to this
material. The material may accentuate any pre-existing dermatitis condition.
Inhalation: Inhalation of vapour is more likely at higher than normal temperatures. The vapour is
discomforting to the upper respiratory tract and repeated exposure may cause sensitisation
and/or allergic reactions. Inhalation of vapour may result in nausea, dizziness, headache and
loss of coordination. Inhalation of vapour may aggravate a pre-existing respiratory condition
such as asthma, bronchitis or emphysema.
Chronic: Primary route of exposure is usually by skin contact/eye contact with the material and
inhalation of vapour from the curing material. Prolonged or repeated skin contact may lead to
dermatitis. Prolonged contact may cause severe eye irritation and some form of permanent
eye damage. Prolonged or repeated skin contact with this substance will cause sensitisation
on skin contact. As with any chemical product, contact with unprotected bare skin; inhalation
of vapour, mist or dust in workplace atmosphere; or ingestion in any form, should be avoided
by observing good occupational work practice.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Ecology: No ecological data available.
Do not discharge into sewers or waterways.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Disposal Methods
State/Territory authority: Observe all Federal, State and Local regulations
Dispose ?Secure landfill: Yes. Prior to disposal in a landfill, Mastertop TC 406 Part A should be
mixed with Mastertop TC 406 Part B in the correct ratio's to set off the
material and render the material inert.
Dispose ?High temp incinerator: Yes. Material may be disposed of by controlled burning in an approved
incinerator.
