SECTION 5 Fire Fighting Measures
FLASH POINT ( F/ C) LEL (volume %) UEL (volume %)
<33.8?F / -0.4?C 1.5 % 13.8 %
Extinguishing Media: Alcohol resistant foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water-spray.
Fire Fighting Procedures: Wear a self -contained breathing apparatus. Cool containers with water-spray.
Unusual Hazards: The vapor/air mixture is explos ive even in empty, unclean receptacles. Vapors are heavier
than air and spread along the ground; therefore, a high volume water jet must NOT be
used. Keep ignition sources away.
Combustion Products: May form carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
SECTION 6 Accidental Release Measures
Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment. In case of vapor formation, use respirator. Remove all
sources of ignition. Do NOT smoke. Do NOT flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Clean contaminated
surface thoroughly. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g., sand, silica gel, acid binder or universal binder). Shovel
into suitable container for disposal. Clean contaminated surfaces thoroughly.
SECTION 7 Handling and Storage
Keep container tightly closed. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Keep away
from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep tightly
closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with oxidizing agents. Keep away from food, drink and
animal feeding.
SECTION 8 Exposure Controls / Personal Protection
Engineering Controls: Mechanical ventilation may be necessary if working with the product in enclosed areas or at
elevated temperatures.
Personal Protective Equipment:
EYES: Tightly fitting safety goggles. Eye wash bottle with pure water.
SKIN: Long sleeved clothing, solvent-resistant gloves.
RESPIRATORY: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable NIOSH-approved respirator, self-contained
breathing apparatus, or air-supplied respirators dependent on concentration.
Exposure Guidelines:
