HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Acute Effects:
Swallowed: Harmful if swallowed. May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal
pain. Central nervous system stimulation followed by depression may occur
following ingestion of large quantities.
Eye: Irritating to eyes.
Skin: Harmful in contact with skin. Irritant. Prolonged or repeated exposure may lead
to defatting of the skin, which could cause secondary dermatitis.
Inhaled: Irritant. Inhalation of mist may cause headache, nausea and irritation of the
throat and respiratory tract.

Chronic Effects:
Kidney and liver damage may result from chronic exposure. Chronic exposure may cause
hair loss, weight loss and diarrhoea.
First Aid:
Swallowed: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If swallowed, and if
more than 15 minutes for a hospital, induce vomiting, preferably using Ipecac
syrup APF. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information
Centre.
Eye: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and
contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of warm soapy water.
Seek medical assistance if large area involved.
Inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air. Lay patients down and keep warm and rested. If
breathing is shallow or has stopped, ensure airway is clear and apply
resuscitation.
Seek medical assistance.
First Aid Facilities:
Ensure eyewash and safety showers are available and ready for use.
Advice to Doctor:
Treat symptomatically. Early diagnosis and treatment of ingestion is important. Ensure
emesis is satisfactory. Test for correct metabolic acidosis and hypocalcaemia. If evidence
of renal insufficiency apply rapid and sustained diuresis with the use of hypertonic
mannitol. Evaluate renal status and begin haemodialysis if indicated.

Engineering Controls:
Good Ventilation required. Local exhaust should be provided if handled in confined areas.
Personal Protection:
Wear eye protection in the form of goggles, Nitrile, PVC or rubber gloves, PVC boots and
polyester overalls should be worn when manufacturing or handling the concentrated
product.
An "organic vapour" respirator should be used during any spraying operations.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport:
Road Transport: Not a dangerous good
Sea Transport: Not a dangerous good
Storage: Store in a dry place away from foodstuffs at all times. Store
away from sources of heat or ignition.
Spills and Disposal:
Wear protective clothing as above.
Do not allow into drains or watercourses. Contain spill by absorbing with sand, earth or
other absorbent material.
Wash down spill area with copious quantities of water. Waste and empty containers must
be disposed on it accordance with local government regulations. Dispose of by liaising
with a waste disposal company or by disposing at a site approved by relevant local
authorities.
Disposal of Containers.
5, 10 litre and 200 litre drums of Mabon's PROTECTIMBER PROFESSIONAL can be
disposed of at a Drummuster collection centre after triple or pressure rinsing the container
and air drying ensuring no residue is left inside or outside the container.

Reactivity Data:
Stable. Avoid strong acids and oxidising agents.
Fire/Explosion Hazard:
Not flammable but will burn in a fire. Use water spray to cool containers threatened by
fire. Use alcohol foam, water fog, dry chemical or carbon dioxide to extinguish.
