CONTAINS: Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether and N-Methyl Pyrrolidone
ACUTE HAZARDS
EYE & SKIN CONTACT: Primary irritation to skin, defatting, dermatitis. Absorption through skin
increases exposure. Primary irritation to eyes include; redness, tearing, blurred vision. Liquid can cause
eye irritation. Wash thoroughly after handling.
INHALATION: Irritates respiratory tract. Acute overexposure can cause serious nervous system
depression. Vapor harmful. Breathing vapor can cause irritation. Acute overexposure can cause
damage to kidneys, blood, nerves, liver & lungs.
SWALLOWING: Swallowing can cause abdominal irritation, nausea, vomiting, & diarrhea.
SUBCHRONIC HAZARDS/CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED: Absorption though skin may be harmful.
Chronic overexposure can cause damage to kidneys, blood, nerves, liver & lungs. Persons with severe
skin, liver, heart, lung, or kidney problems should avoid use.
CANCER HAZARD: This product has no carcinogens listed by IARC, NTP, NIOSH, OSHA, or ACGIH,
as of this date, greater than or equal to 0.1%.
TOXICITY: NMP is reported to be fetotoxic and teratogenic by dermal but not inhalation exposure. Rats
exposed to an aerosol - vapor mixture of NMP at 1.0 mg/l for 6 hr/day, 5 day/week for 4 weeks developed
excessive mortality, focal pneumonia, bone marrow hypoplasia and atrophy of lymphoid tissue.
N-Methyl Pyrrolidone
May cause severe eye irritation. Prolonged exposure may cause skin irritation. LD(50), oral-rat:
4200 mg/kg; LD(50) skin-rabbit: 8000 mg/kg. Teratogenic effects: Male and female rates exposed
orally to 500 mg/kg/day in feed for 10 weeks before mating and throughout pregnancy: fetolethality. In
earlier study, 300 mg/kg/day was a clear no effect.
N,N-Dimethylethanolamine
Primary irritant to mucous membranes and eyes. Toxic by ingestion and skin absorption.
LD(50), oral-rat: 2 g/kg; LD(50) skin-rabbit: 137 mg/kg; LCL(0), inhalation-rat: 1641 ppm/4hr.
SECTION IV: FIRST AID MEASURES
