HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
HEALTH HAZARDS
Inhaled: Will cause irritation to mucous membranes, nose, eyes, throat, and
possibly difficulty in breathing. Exposure to high vapor concentrations may
cause headaches, dizziness, nausea and narcosis.
Eye: Liquid and vapour may irritate eyes.
Skin: Prolonged or repeated contact with the skin may irritate and cause
dermatitis.
Swallowed: Harmful if swallowed, may cause gastric irritation and narcosis. The hazard
of solvent aspiration into the lungs may cause severe pulmonary injury and
possible death.
FIRST AID
Inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air, if not breathing employ artificial respiration
preferably mouth to mouth. Seek immediate medical assistance.
Eye: Immediately irrigate with copious quantities of water, for at least 20
minutes, holding the eyelids open. In all cases of eye contamination, it is
advisable to seek medical advice.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected areas with soap and water
immediately.
Swallowed: If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. If
swallowed, and more than 15 minutes from a hospital, induce vomiting,
preferably using Ipecac Syrup APF. If vomiting occurs, place victim鈥檚 face
downwards, head lower than hips to prevent vomit entering lungs. Seek
immediate medical assistance.
Advice to Doctor: Treat symptomatically.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
This product is stable and hazardous polymerization will not occur.
THERMAL DECOMPOSITION/HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Irritating fumes emitted.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID INSTABILITY:
Material is stable in closed container with oxygen and light excluded. Inside storage should be
in a standard flammable liquids storage room or cabinet. Possible formation of peroxides may
cause violent reaction especially upon evaporation to dryness. Unstable peroxide may form
upon aging, especially in contact with air.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION:
Not applicable.
MATERIALS & CONDITIONS TO AVOID INCOMPATIBILITY:
Oxidizing materials, air (if unstable), Lithium aluminium hydride, sodium aluminum hydroxide,
sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide.
EXPOSURE LIMITS:
Not established for product. Exposure standards for the hazardous components are as follows
(NOHSC - 1995):
TWA: 25 ppm (100 mg/m3).
Cyclohexanone:
TWA: 150 ppm (445 mg/m3).
Methyl Ethyl Ketone:
TWA: 200 ppm (590 mg/m3).
Tetrahydrofuran:
PERSONAL PROTECTION:
Wear chemically resistant gloves, chemical splash goggles. Use approved respiratory protection
such as air supplied mask if used in enclosed area.
VENTILATION:
Do not use in confined spaces. Provide adequate ventilation.
SAFE HANDLING
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT:
Storage: Material is dangerous when exposed to heat or flame. Keep container closed
when not in use. Do not handle or store near open flame, heat or strong
oxidants, adequate ventilation required.
PACKAGING AND LABELLING:
Classified as a Scheduled Poison (S5), Class 3 Flammable Liquid, UN No. 1133 and hazardous
substance (harmful, irritant).
Risk Phrases: R11 Highly flammable.
R20 Harmful by inhalation.
R36/37 Irritating to eyes and respiratory system.

SAFE HANDLING (CONTINUED)
Safety Phrases: S9 Keep container in a well ventilated place.
S16 Keep away from sources of ignition.
S23 Do not breathe vapour.
S25 Avoid contact with eyes.
S26 In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of
water and contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
SPILLS AND DISPOSAL:
Small Spills: Absorb in sand or other non-combustible material. Place in clean drum then flush
area with water.
Large Spills: Keep public away, shut off all source of ignition. Warn occupants of down-wind
areas of explosion hazard. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber
boots and heavy rubber gloves. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material
pickup is complete. Absorb on sand or vermiculite and place in closed container
for disposal. Prevent liquid from entering sewers, watercourse or low areas.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:
Contain spilled liquid with sand or earth. Dilute contained spill with water. Recover free liquid
by pumping onto a suitable absorbent. Consult an expert on disposal of recovered material and
ensure conformity to local regulations.
FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD:
-17oC
Flash point:
Method: Abel close cup
Flammable Limits: LEL: 2.0 UEL: 11.8
321oC
Auto Ignition Temperature:
GENERAL HAZARD:
Vapor may travel a considerable distance to source ignition and flashback possible formation of
peroxide may cause violent reaction especially upon evaporation to dryness.
FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:
Wear self contained breathing apparatus and chemical goggles.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCT UNDER FIRE CONDITIONS:
Irritating fumes emitted when heated to decomposition.
FIRE FIGHTING MEDIA:
Foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, Water spray may be ineffective.
