Patch testing of guinea pigs with BULLET庐 Herbicide produced no irritation following initial application; barely perceptible dermal
irritation was observed in some animals during subsequent repeated exposures of the induction phase. On challenge, no animals
exhibited a positive dermal response. BULLET庐 Herbicide did not exhibit the potential to produce dermal sensitization in guinea pigs.

Components:
Data from Monsanto studies and from the available literature on the component(s) of BULLET庐 Herbicide which have been
identified under the criteria of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) are discussed below:

Alachlor
In repeat dosing studies (6-month), dogs fed alachlor exhibited body weight changes and liver toxicity at dosages which
produced some deaths. Lower doses given for longer periods (1-year) produced mild stomach and intestinal effects, anemia
and liver toxicity. Following repeated skin exposure (3 weeks) to alachlor, moderate skin irritation was the primary effect in
rabbits. Skin allergy was observed in guinea pigs following repeated skin exposure. Eye and nose irritation and body weight
and liver weight changes were noted following repeated inhalation (1-month) of alachlor by rats.
Rats fed alachlor in long-term (25-month) studies showed some organ weight changes, eye damage, liver toxicity, and
tumors in the nose, stomach and thyroid. Most of the tumors in rats occurred only at levels of exposure which produced
severe and excessive toxicity. Mice fed alachlor (79-weeks) had no treatment-related tumors though liver and kidney weight
changes were seen.
No birth defects were noted in rats and rabbits given alachlor orally during pregnancy, even at amounts which produced
adverse effects on the mothers. No effects were seen on the ability of male or female rats to reproduce and rear young when
fed alachlor for 3 successive generations.
Alachlor has generally produced no genetic changes in standard tests using animals and animal or bacterial cells.

Atrazine
Eye or skin contact to atrazine may result in slight irritation. Allergic skin reaction has been reported in some sensitized
individuals.
Atrazine, also one of the active herbicidal ingredients of BULLET庐 Herbicide, has been tested in acute, chronic and
reproductive toxicity studies and in tests for mutagenicity, teratogenicity, and skin sensitization potential. Single-dose (acute)
toxicity studies indicate that atrazine is slightly toxic orally (rats) and following skin application (rabbits). The inhalation
1-hour median lethal concentration of atrazine in rats was >0.71 mg/l of air. Atrazine is considered to be slightly irritating to
rabbit eyes and skin. Repeated skin application to guinea pigs was reported to produce sensitization. In laboratory animals,
signs of acute intoxication with atrazine include muscular weakness, hypoactivity, ataxia, shortness of breath and convulsions.
No adverse treatment-related effects were reported in dogs, horses and cattle fed diets containing 25 ppm atrazine. A long-
term feeding study of dogs with very high doses of atrazine resulted in cardiotoxicity. Chronic dietary administration of
atrazine has been reported to cause an increased incidence of tumors in female rats. This response was not observed in long-
term studies with dogs, mice or male rats. Atrazine is classified as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" by the International
Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC Monographs, Vol. 53). The IARC listing is based, in part, on their determination that
there is insufficient evidence the carcinogenicity of atrazine in humans and only limited evidence for the carcinogenicity of
atrazine in experimental animals. No teratogenic responses were reported in studies with rats and rabbits. No adverse
treatment-related effects on reproduction were reported in a 3-generation study with rats.

Sodium Nitrate
Sodium nitrate, also a component of BULLET庐 Herbicide, is an oxidizing material. Excessive exposure to airborne dust may
cause irritation of the upper respiratory tract. Contact with the eyes and skin may also produce irritation. Ingestion of sodium
nitrate can cause gastroenteritis, abdominal pain and diuresis. Under some circumstances methemoglobinemia, anemia and
nephritis have occurred in individuals (mostly infants) when ingested nitrate is converted by bacteria in the stomach to nitrite.
Cyanosis associated with headache, weakness, irritability, drowsiness, shortness of breath, unconsciousness and death may
occur should this conversion take place. For additional information on sodium nitrate, please contact Monsanto for reference
to the manufacturer's material safety data sheet.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Available toxicity data for this material, similar formulations, and the active ingredients suggest that this material would
be slightly toxic to aquatic invertebrates, slightly to moderately toxic to fish, practically non-toxic to avian species and
honeybees, and moderately to highly toxic to algal species.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Wastes resulting from use of this product that cannot be used or chemically reprocessed should be disposed of in a
landfill approved for pesticide disposal or in accordance with applicable Federal, State or local procedures.
