Flammable Limits: LEL - 7.5 UEL - 15.0
Extinguishing Media: Water fog
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Water may be used to keep fire-exposed containers cool until fire is
out. Wear SCBA apparatus with a full facepiece operated in pressure-demand or other positive pressure
mode when fighting fires.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Never use welding or cutting torch on or near drums (even empty)
because product (even just residue) can ignite explosively. Vapors in a confined/poorly ventilated area can
be ignited upon contact with a high energy spark, flame or high intensity source of heat. Vapors are heavier
than air and will collect in low area.

SECTION VI - HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Route(s) of Entry: Inhalation (Y) Skin (Y) Ingestion (Y) Eye (Y)
Health Hazards (Acute and Chronic): Overexposure has apparently been found to cause these effects in
laboratory animals: liver abnormalities, kidney, nasal and lung damage. Also, has been suggested as a
cause of the following effects in humans: cardiac abnormality, liver abnormalities, kidney and lung
damage.
Carcinogenicity: NTP (N) IARC Monographs (N) OSHA Regulated (N)
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Eye - Mild irritation. May cause slight corneal injury. Skin - Mild
irritation, and may dry the skin. Inhalation - Nasal and respiratory irritation, dizziness, weakness, fatigue,
nausea, headache, possible unconsciousness and even asphyxiation. Ingestion - Gastrointestinal irritation,
nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Possibly any eye, lung, or skin disorder.
Emergency and First Aid Procedures: Skin - Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and water.
Remove contaminated clothing (launder before reuse). Eye - Flush with large amounts of water, lifting
upper and lower lids occasionally. Get medical attention. Ingestion - DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.
Call physician or transport to an emergency facility. This material is an aspiration hazard. Inhalation -
Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If breathing has stopped, give artificial
respiration. Keep person warm and quiet. Get medical attention. Do not give stimulants. Epinephrine or
Ephedrine may adversely affect the heart with fatal results.
SECTION VII - PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE
Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: Small Spill: Absorb liquid on paper,
vermiculite, floor absorbent, or other absorbent material and transfer to hood. Large Spill: Persons not
wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until cleanup has been completed. Stop
spill at source; dike area to prevent spreading; pump liquid to salvage tank. Remaining liquid may be taken
up on sand, clay, earth, floor absorbent, or other absorbent material and shoveled into containers.
Waste Disposal Method: Small Spill: Allow volatile portion to evaporate in hood. Allow sufficient time
for vapors to completely clear hood duct work. Dispose of remaining material in accordance with
applicable regulations. Large Spill: Destroy by liquid incineration. Contaminated absorbent may be
deposited in a landfill in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Precautions to be taken in Handling and Storing: Store in dry, cool place. Do not store outside in direct
sunlight. Contact with aluminum parts in pressurizable fluid application system may cause violent reaction.
Consult safety equipment supplier for further information.
Other Precautions: KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN! Containers of this material may be hazardous
when emptied. Since empty containers retain product residue (vapor, liquid, and/or solid), all hazard
precautions given in the data sheet must be observed. Avoid contact with plastic and rubber, i.e.,
equipment, protective clothing, and containers.
SECTION VIII - CONTROL MEASURES
Respiratory Protection (Specify Type): A NIOSH/MSHA jointly approved air-supplied respirator is
advised in absence of proper environmental control.
Ventilation: Local Exhaust (Y) Mechanical (Y)
Protective Gloves: Polyvinyl Alcohol/Polyethylene Eye Protection: Chemical-splash goggles
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Impervious clothing and boots
Work/Hygiene Practices: Always follow good housekeeping and personal hygiene practices.
