Buster Blaster Model 100 Soda Blaster
The Buster Blaster 100 by The Soda Works is the only true Soda Blaster. It operates
using a patented, self-cleaning venturi that requires little or no maintenance. The venturi
combined with the metering system in the Buster Blaster Soda Blaster virtually
eliminates downtime because of clogged lines and will deliver a precise and even flow of
the blasting medium (Natrium Soda Blasting Medium) so you can complete your work on
time and on budget. A properly adjusted Buster Blaster Soda Blaster will reduce your use
of soda by 20% or more and still have better on-the-job performance than any modified
Sand Blast or "any media" pot.
The Buster Blaster Model 100 Soda Blaster has a capacity of 100 lbs of Natrium Soda,
that's two bags. When you order the Buster Blaster 100 Soda Blaster you should already
have a high-volume air compressor. How much capacity do you need? It depends upon
the size of the nozzle you are using. When you are using a nozzle with a larger opening,
you increase the flow of air and soda and have a larger "brush" that you are blasting with.
Here is a simple chart that shows the air flow required:
Tip Size Minimum CFM required PSI
#2 ?1/8" 26 125
#3 - 3/16" 55 125
#4 - 1/4 98 125
#5 - 5/16 168 125
#6 - 3/8 237 125
Our Buster Blaster 100 Mobile unit comes with an air compressor that has a capacity of
210 CFM at 150 PSI It can supply enough air to run two Buster Blaster Soda Blaster pots
with 1/4 inch nozzles. Surface cleaning of dirt and grime generally require air pressures
of 100 to 125 psi. Coatings removals generally require minimum air pressures of 125 psi.
Another very important factor to consider when Soda Blasting is the dryness of the air. It
is essential that you are supplying the driest air possible to your soda blaster. Sodium
Bicarbonate is hydrophilic, it loves water. It will readily absorb any moisture it can find
in the air it is supplied. This leads to clogged lines and poor performance. At Soda Works
we have been aware of this for years and have developed our proprietary air-drying
system, which consists of our custom air-cooling unit coupled with our SW-500 moisture
separator. We have spent years perfecting this system to deliver the driest air possible to
our Soda Blasters.
If you have your own high-volume compressor and are ordering one or more of our
Buster Blaster Soda Blasters, be sure you also order our cooler/dryer pack which will
deliver the dry air you need to Soda Blast in the efficient and profitable manner that our
soda blasters make possible.
Now that you have chosen to use one of the patented Soda Blasters manufactured by The
Soda Works you have cleared the biggest hurdles in claiming your place among the most
productive soda blasting companies in the country. But owning a Buster Blaster system is
only part of the equation. The results you obtain will vary with the type of soda blasting
media you choose to use.
You might be thinking, "Baking soda is baking soda." While this is true, not all baking
soda makes good soda blasting media. At Soda Works our goal is to provide you with the
best soda blasting systems in the world. To reach this goal we have analyzed every aspect
of the soda blasting process. Our system delivers the driest air possible to our patented
venturi metering system. We have analyzed and perfected every aspect of our system
down to the very baking soda that is being used in the process.
Our research has proven to us that not all soda is alike. We recommend and sell only
Natrium Soda Blasting Media. We strongly feel that Natrium soda is the only Soda
Blasting Media that should be used in soda blasting today.
Why? It all has to do with particle size and in soda blasting - size matters! The size we
are referring to is the size of the sodium bicarbonate crystal that makes up the media. The
Natrium 260 Soda Blasting Media is manufactured in a process that results in a consistent
crystal size. Over 90% of the Media is will not fit through a U.S. Standard #70 screen.
This is a good thing. Larger particles equal less dust and more work. We have found
Natrium 260 to be the ideal size for soda blasting. Smaller crystals don't get as much
work done and larger crystals put excessive wear and tear on the equipment without
resulting in significant gains of efficiency.
Natrium Soda Blasting Media is also pure Sodium Bicarbonate. There are no "flow
additives" or other adulterants. Other "Soda Blasting" systems cannot deliver air that is
dry enough. Even if you hook up one of your Buster Blaster pots to their air supply, the
moisture in the air will cause the soda to clump and clog. Rather than be thorough and
design a proper soda blasting system, other manufacturers "blame the soda" and add junk
into the soda, which diminishes the purity of the process. Sodium bicarbonate is
completely water-soluble. You can rinse every trace of it away with a hose. "Flow
additives," typically Tri Calcium Carbonate and TFF (treated free flowing additive -?),
are not water soluble. To remove them from your work site requires more time and effort
on your part. What's more is the "flow additives" do not do any of the work of blasting;
they simply make more dust and more mess for you to clean up afterward.
Natrium 260 Soda Blasting Media is the very best Soda Blasting Media available. It is
pure sodium bicarbonate so you have no additional environmental hoops to jump
through. The manufacturing process gives a consistent, predictable product. With every
shipment of Natrium 260 Soda Blasting Media, we receive an analysis report on that
specific batch. We are happy to furnish this information to anyone. Use Natrium 260
Soda blasting Media with a Buster Blaster Soda Blasting system and you will be well on
your way to being among the most productive and profitable soda blasters in the country!
