4 FIRST-AID MEASURES

INHALATION
Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Provide rest, warmth and fresh air. Get medical attention if any discomfort
continues.
INGESTION
Do not induce vomiting. Immediately rinse mouth and drink plenty of water. Get medical attention immediately!

SKIN CONTACT
Immediately remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. Rinse the skin immediately with lots of water. Get medical attention
immediately.
EYE CONTACT
May cause permanent damage if eye is not immediately irrigated. Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water or eye wash solution while lifting
the eyelids.If possible remove any contact lenses and continue to wash. Get medical attention immediately.

5 FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
The product is non-combustible. Extinguish with carbon dioxide or dry powder. DO NOT use water if avoidable.

SPECIFIC HAZARDS
In case of fire, toxic and corrosive gases may be formed.

PROTECTIVE MEASURES IN FIRE
Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

SPILL CLEAN UP METHODS
Spread soda ash liberally over spillage and transfer to containers. Wash contaminated area with water.

7 HANDLING AND STORAGE

USAGE PRECAUTIONS
Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Never add water directly to this product - may cause vigorous reaction/boiling. Always dilute by
carefully pouring the product into the water.
STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
Store in tightly closed original container in a dry and cool place.

STORAGE CLASS
Corrosive storage.

INGREDIENT COMMENTS
The OES for sulphuric acid has been withdrawn by the HSE. The value quoted is given for guidance only.

ENGINEERING MEASURES
Provide adequate ventilation including appropriate local extraction to maintain airborn concentrations at a low level.

RESPIRATORY EQUIPMENT
In case of inadequate ventilation use suitable respirator.

HAND PROTECTION
Use full-length gloves. Butyl rubber. Polyethylene/Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol (PE/EVAL).

EYE PROTECTION
Wear goggles/face shield.

OTHER PROTECTION
Wear suitable protective clothing as protection against splashing or contamination. Provide eyewash station and safety shower.

HYGIENE MEASURES
Wash at the end of each work shift and before eating, smoking and using the toilet. Wash promptly if skin becomes wet or contaminated.
Promptly remove any clothing that becomes wet or contaminated. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

11 TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

TOXIC DOSE 1 - LD 50 2140 mg/kg (oral rat)

INHALATION
Corrosive. Causes coughing and dyspnoea. May cause pulmonary oedema. Long term exposure could cause damage to pharynx.

INGESTION
Ingestion is followed by severe pain (risk of perforation), nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Corrosive. Even small amounts may cause
serious damage.
SKIN CONTACT
Causes severe burns.

EYE CONTACT
Strongly corrosive. Causes severe burns and serious eye damage. Immediate first aid is imperative.
