4. FIRST AID MEASURES
EYE CONTACT: Flush thoroughly with water. Slightly irritating but will not injure eye tissue. If irritation
persists, call a physician.
SKIN CONTACT: Wash contact areas with soap and water. Medical attention is required if persistent
irritation occurs. Prolonged and repeated contact may lead to dermatitis, Low toxicity.
INHALATION: Remove from further exposure. If respiratory irritation, dizziness, nausea, or
unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate medical assistance and call a physician. If breathing has
stopped, use mouth to mouth resuscitation.
INGESTION: Small amounts aspirated into the respiratory system during ingestion or from vomiting may
cause mild to severe pulmonary injury and possibly death. Call a physician, hospital or poison control
centre for assistance. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical and water fog.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Water or foam may cause frothing. Use water to keep fire-
exposed containers cool. Water spray may be used to flush spills away from exposure. Prevent runoff
from fire control or dilution from entering streams, sewers, or drinking water supply. Vapours are
heavier than air and may "travel" to a source of ignition.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: For fires in enclosed areas, fire fighters must use self-contained
breathing apparatus with full face piece.

Flash Point: 43C TCC ASTM D56 Flammable limits ?1 to 13.3 % by volume approx.
Auto-Ignition Temperature (Celsius): 240
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Thermal decomposition products are toxic and may
include formaldehyde and oxides of carbon.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES: Report spills as required to appropriate Provincial and Federal
authorities. In particular, immediate reporting is required for all spills that could reach any waterway,
including wetlands and intermittent dry creeks or could adversely affect the environment. In case of
accident notify vendor.
PROCEDURES IF MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: Adsorb on fire retardant treated
sawdust, diatomaceous earth, etc. Shovel up and dispose of at an appropriate waste disposal facility
in accordance with current applicable laws and regulations, and product characteristics at time of
disposal.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS: Prevent spills from entering storm sewers or drains and contact
with soil.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS: See Section 8
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING: Ground and bond equipment and containers to prevent static charge buildup. Use
spark-resistant tools and avoid "splash-filling" of containers. Take precautions to relieve container
pressure under warmer temperatures. Avoid contact with skin.
STORAGE: Do not store in open or unlabelled containers. Store away from strong oxidizing
agents or combustible material. Store at ambient temperatures, under 40 Celsius. Avoid
moisture contamination and protect from direct sunlight and physical damage.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
VENTILATION: Required and should be explosion proof. "Buddy" system should be used in confined
spaces.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Approved respiratory equipment must be used when airborne
concentrations are unknown or exceed regulated exposure limits.
EYE PROTECTION: Normal industrial eye protection practices should be employed, such as safety
glasses with side shields. Contact lenses should not be worn.
SKIN PROTECTION: Protective gloves and clothing recommended with prolonged contact. Good
personal hygiene practices should always be followed. Discard contaminated clothing and footwear
that cannot be cleaned.
