SECTION 3: COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

Component CAS# WT.%
Ethanamine, n,n- diethyl- 121-44-8 100

SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES

INGESTION: If conscious, rinse mouth with water, give one glass of water to dilute. DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to
do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to a person who is unconscious or convulsing. Get immediate medical
attention.
SKIN CONTACT: Immediately flush affected areas with running water for at 20 minutes or until no traces remain. Wash with soap
and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Get immediate medical attention
EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for
at least 15 minutes. Immediate medical attention is required.
INHALATION: Remove victim to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. Do not give mouth to mouth. If
breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Obtain immediate medical treatment for all cases of significant inhalation exposure.
Symptoms may be delayed for several hours.

SECTION 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: For large fires, use water spray or alcohol-resistant foam. For small fires, use carbon dioxide, dry
chemical, dry sand or limestone powder.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Stop leak if it is safe to do so. Evacuate area of all non-emergency personnel.
Firefighters should wear full emergency equipment and NIOSH approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus.
Fight fire from upwind and cool exposed intact containers and structures with water spray or stream at maximum range. Runoff
from fire control may cause pollution.

UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: This product is extremely flammable and forms explosive mixtures with air.
Concentrated vapors are heavier than air and may flow along surfaces to remote ignition sources and flash back. Vapors may
collect in low areas. At elevated temperatures, containers may rupture due to pressure build-up. Decomposition and combustion
products may be hazardous.

SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: Wear appropriate protective clothing as described in
Section 8 to prevent eye and skin contact and appropriate respirator to prevent overexposure. This product is extremely
flammable. Use special precautions against fire and explosion. Evacuate spill area and keep unprotected personnel away.
Eliminate all ignition sources and ventilate the area. Stop leak if you can do it without risk. Absorb with inert materials and place
into appropriate, sealed containers for disposal. Allow vapors to dissipate. Use non-sparking tools and equipment to collect. Use
water spray to disperse the vapors and protect personnel. For large spills, dike and transfer liquid to suitable containers for
disposal. Prevent material and washings from entering waterways. Report release as required by local and federal regulations.

SECTION 7: HANDLING and STORAGE

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING: Protect containers from physical damage. Store in a cool, dry,
well-ventilated area away from heat and other sources of ignition. Storage of containers and bulk liquids should conform to
applicable regulations for flammable liquids. Keep product and vapors away from heat, direct sunlight, flames, sparks and all other
sources of ignition. Electrically bond and ground containers for transfer. Prevent contact with the eyes, skin and clothing. Do not
breathe vapors or mists. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only with adequate ventilation and appropriate protective clothing.
OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Keep containers tightly closed. Empty containers retain product residues and may be hazardous.
Follow all MSDS precautions in handling empty containers.

SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

INGREDIENTS CAS# EXPOSURE LIMITS
Triethylamine 121-44-8 1 ppm TWA ACGIH TLV skin
3 ppm STEL ACGIH TLV
25 ppm TWA OSHA PEL

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Use NIOSH approved full face-piece respirator with ammonia/methylamine or organic vapor
cartridges if needed. For higher concentrations, an approved supplied air respirator (with escape bottle if required) or self-
contained breathing apparatus may be required. Selection of respiratory protection depends on the contaminant type, form and
concentration. Select in accordance with OSHA 1910.134 and good Industrial Hygiene practice.
VENTILATION: Provide adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to maintain concentrations below the exposure limits. Use
explosion-proof equipment where required.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING: Nitrile, viton or other impervious gloves are required. Impervious apron, boots and other clothing are
recommended if needed to prevent contact.
EYE PROTECTION: Chemical safety goggles and faceshield recommended to prevent eye contact unless a full-facepiece
respirator is worn.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: For operations where contact can occur, a safety shower and an eye wash facility should be
available.

SECTION 9: PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

nitrogen oxide and ammonia.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur.

SECTION 11: TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

EYE CONTACT: Vapors may cause severe irritation and conjunctivitis with possible corneal edema. Contact may cause eye
burns and blindness. May cause temporary corneal edema causing the perception of a "blue haze" or "fog" around lights, which is
temporary.
SKIN CONTACT: May cause severe irritation or burning of the skin. Symptoms include itching and tingling of the skin, burning
sensation or ulcerations. Skin may feel slippery or soapy when chemical remains on the skin. May be toxic if absorbed through the
skin.
INHALATION: May cause respiratory and mucous membrane irritation with sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath, chemical
bronchitis dyspnea, and pulmonary edema. May be harmful if inhaled and may cause delayed lung injury. Risk of serious damage
to the lungs.
INGESTION: Ingestion may cause severe burns to the mouth and throat and may cause perforation of the esophagus and
stomach. Toxic if swallowed.
CHRONIC EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Prolonged or repeated skin contact with low concentrations may cause dermatitis.
May cause heart, lung, kidney, and/or liver damage based on studies with laboratory animals. Triethylamine has produced genetic
damage in mammalian cell cultures (rat bone marrow chromosomal aberration) but was not mutagenic in bacterial systems.
CARCINOGENICITY: None of the components is listed as a carcinogen or suspect carcinogen by NTP, IARC or OSHA.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Individuals with chronic eye, skin or respiratory disorders may be at
increased risk from exposure to this material.
