?Dangerous reactions
Product polymerizes on contact with radical formers such as peroxides, azo
compounds, reducing substances and/or heavy metal ions (e.g. rust) and through
action of heat, light or other radiation with development of heat and possibly
pressure build-up (danger of bursting).

11 Toxicological information
?Acute toxicity:
?LD/LC50 values that are relevant for classification:
80-62-6 methyl methacrylate
Oral LD50 8000 mg/kg (rat)
?Primary irritant effect:
?on the skin: Irritant for skin and mucous membranes.
?on the eye: Irritant effect.
?Sensitization: Sensitisation possible by skin contact.
?Additional toxicological information:
The product shows the following dangers according to the calculation method of the
General EC Classification Guidelines for Preparations as issued in the latest
version:
harmful
Irritant
When used and handled according to specifications, the product does not have any
harmful effects in our experience and according to the information provided to us.
Methyl methacrylate causes irritation of affected mucous membranes only at
relatively high concentrationes. Chronic poisoning is unknown. The annoyance
caused by the bad smell (odour threshhold: approx. 5 ppm) is so great that
concentrations irritant to mucous membrane and harmful on resorption can hardly be
reached. Irritation to mucous membrane possible above 0,5g/m3.
12 Ecological information:
?General notes:
Do not allow into bodies of water, drains or the soil.
No ecological studies are available. Harmful effects on man and environment
(ecologically negative effects) are hitherto unknown and are not to be expected.
With proper handling and use as intended the product has, in our considerable
experience with building materials and according to the information available to
us, no ecotoxic effects.
13 Disposal considerations
?Product:
?Recommendation
Disposal in accordance with national and local laws and bye-laws.
Must not be disposed of together with household waste. Do not allow product to
reach sewage system.
Unhardened material: special waste.
?European waste catalogue
08 04 09 waste adhesives and sealants containing organic solvents or other
dangerous substances
?Uncleaned packagings:
?Recommendation:
Carefully and completely emptied packs can be disposed of as building site or
commercial waste.
Carefully emptied packs are household refuse or site or industrial refuse
depending on source.
