3. Hazards:
3.1 Classification of Preparation:

3.2 Primary Hazards
MAY CAUSE LUNG DAMAGE IF SWALLOWED. VAPOURS MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS AND
DIZZINESS.
This product contains an anticholinesterase organophosphorus compound, clorpyrifos. DO NOT
USE if under medical advice NOT to work with such compounds.
MAY CAUSE LONG TERM ADVERSE EFFECTS IN THE AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT.
4. First Aid Measures:
4.1 Eyes: Irrigate gently with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Send to hospital without
delay.
4.2 Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed skin and hair thoroughly with
soap and water. Seek medical attention without delay.
4.3 Ingestion: Keep patient cool and at rest. DO NOT induce vomiting. Call a doctor AT ONCE
and show him this leaflet or the product container label.
4.4 Inhalation: Remove from source of exposure and provide maximum ventilation. If
unconscious, secure airway and place in recovery position. If heart-beat is
absent, give external cardiac compression. If there is coughing or difficulty
breathing, keep at rest in a position of maximum comfort. Call a doctor without
delay.
4.5 Symptoms
of Poisoning: These may include: excessive sweating, headache, weakness, faintness and
giddiness, nausea, stomach pains, vomiting, blurred vision, muscle twitching.
If any of the above symptoms occur, particularly when there is known
contamination, STOP WORK. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed
skin and hair. Prevent all exertion. Call a doctor AT ONCE and show him this
leaflet or the product container label.

Guide to Doctor:
This product contains an anticholinesterase organophosphorus compound,
chlorpyrifos. It also contains petroleum distillates which may present an
aspiration hazard.
IN ALL ACSES AND AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE inject atropine sulphate 2mg or
pro rata for children and repeat (if necessary) until fully atropinised.
IF AVAILABLE administer pralidoxime 1 gramme by intra-muscular injection.
Repeat after 3-4 hours.
Other measures:
Keep airway clear.
Watch respiration ?intubation with endotracheal tube or tracheotomy may be
necessar5y in conjunction with artificial ventilation. Put patient at rest in hospital
for 24 hours at least.
Confirmation of Diagnosis:
By estimating cholinesterase activity (5ml blood, unhaemolysed, collected in an
anticoagulant).
5. Fire Fighting Measures
5.1 Suitable Extinguishing Media
Dry chemical, foam, water spray, carbon dioxide, sand or earth. Keep containers cool by spraying
with water.

5.3 Special Hazards, Combustion or By-Products
During a fire,decomposition fumes and vapours will be toxic and malodorous, an dinclude
hydrogen chloride, ethyl mercaptan, diethyl sulphide and oxides of nitrogen and sulphur.. Contain
run-off to prevent entry into water or drainage systems.
5.4 Protective Clothing for Fire Fighting
Suitable protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.

6. Accidental Release (Spillage)
6.1 Personal Precautions
Wear appropriate safety clothing and eye/face protection. Remove contaminated clothing
immediately. DO NOT eat, drink or smoke.
6.2 Environmental Precautions
DO NOT wash excessive spillages into water courses. If this product enters water course or sewer
(including via contaminated soil and vegetation), contact local agency and/or police immediately.
DO NOT burn.
6.3 Clean & Disposal Methods
Soak up with sand or other non-combustible absorbent material and place into containers for
disposal. For large spills, barricade area and consult manufacturer. If large spillages sok into the
ground, the area should be dug up and shovelled into labelled containers for later transfer to a
safe place for disposal. Rinse the area with soda lye when all traces of the spillage have been
removed. If further assistance is required, telephone the emergency contact number.
7. Storage and Handling
7.1 Practical Precautions and Engineering Controls for Safe Handling
Use good personal hygiene. DO NOT consume or store food in the work area. Wash hands and
exposed skin before eating, drinking or smoking and after work. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and
clothing. Avoid breathing vapours.
7.2 Conditions and Quantity Limits for Safe Storage
Store in a cool and dry suitable agricultural chemical store under lock and key in original, labelled
containers. Protect from excessive heat and cold. DO NOT store near food, drink or animal
feeding stuffs. Keep out of reach of children.

8.2 Occupational Exposure Controls
Provide general and/or local exhaust ventilation to control airborne levels below the exposure
guidelines.
8.3 Personal Protective Equipment
Wear coveralls, suitable protective gloves and face shield to BS2092 when handling the
concentrated product or contaminated surfaces and dealing with spillages. Wear suitable
respiratory equipment in cases of insufficient ventilation. Avoid breathing the spray mist when
using. Decontaminate all protective equipment after use.
