May cause eye, skin and respiratory irritation. Intentional misuse by concentrating and inhaling the vapor
Toxicity:
may be harmful or fatal. Aspiration hazard if swallowed. Exposure to 2-butoxyethanol can cause nausea,
dizziness, vomiting, malaise, incoordination, diarrhea, weakness, eye redness and swelling of conjunctiva.
Prolonged exposure may cause liver and kidney effects and may affect the central nervous system.
Reports have associated repeated and prolonged overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and
nervous system damage (sometimes referred to as "solvent" or "painter's syndrome"). Symptoms include
fatigue, concentration difficulties, anxiety, depression, rapid mood swings, and short-term memory loss.
