Section VI. Accidental Release Measures
S MAL L S P IL L Use appropriate tools or equipment to place the spilled solid in a suitable container for reuse
or disposal. F lush or wash the contaminated surface. R ecover wash water and dispose of
according to local and regional authority requirements.
L AR G E S P IL L S top leak if without risk. DO NOT get water inside container. P revent entry into sewers,
bas ements or confined areas ; dike if needed. C leanup pers onnel s hould be protected
agains t dus t inhalation and eye and s kin contact. R ecover and place material in s uitable
containers for recycle, reuse, or disposal. E nsure disposal is in compliance with government
requirements and local regulations.

Section VII. Handling and Storage
P R E C AUTIONS Avoid contact with skin and eyes. DO NOT breathe dust. After handling, always wash hands
thoroughly with soap and water. Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other
engineering controls to keep airborne levels below recommended exposure limits.
S TOR AG E K eep container tightly closed. S tore in a dry, cool and well ventilated area. K eep away from
food, drink and animal feeds. K eep out of reach of children.

Section VIII. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
Us e proces s enclos ures , local exhaus t ventilation, or other engineering controls to keep

airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If user operations generate dust, fumes
or mis t, us e adequate local exhaus t or general ventilation to keep expos ure to airborne
contaminants below the exposure limits.
P E R S ONAL P R OTE C TION T he s election of pers onal protective equipment varies , depending upon conditions of us e.
Under well controlled conditions where no direct contact with the s ubs tance exis ts and
expos ures are below the occupational expos ure limit, normal work clothing may s uffice.
However, protective clothing and appropriate respiratory protection must be available in the
area in the event of emergency. Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate.
Where skin and eye contact may occur as a result of brief periodic exposures, wear clothing
with long sleeves, coverals, chemical resistant gloves, impervious chemical resistant jacket
and pants, and safety glasses with side shields. A respiratory protection program that meets
O S HA 29 C F R 1910.134 requirements mus t be followed whenever workplace conditions
warrant a respirator's use.
