Ethylbenzene

EU Hazard statements according to EU Regulation EC 1272/2008: Highly flammable liquid and vapour.
Harmful if inhaled.

Skin and Eyes: Causes skin irritation. Prolonged and/or repeated contact may cause irritation and/or
dermatitis. May be absorbed through the skin. Contact with the liquid may cause erythema
(redness), exfoliation and vesiculation (blistering).

Ingestion: May cause irritation of the digestive tract. May cause central nervous system depression,
characterized by excitement, followed by headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea.

Inhalation: Causes respiratory tract irritation. Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation if in high
concentration.

Styrene divinyl benzene copolymer

Not hazardous according to UN GHS, EU Regulation EC 1272/2008, or Directive 67/548/EEC

Inhalation (powder): May be harmful if inhaled. May cause upper respiratory tract & mucous membrane
irritation.

Section 4 Emergen cy First Aid Procedures:

IF ON SKIN (or hair):Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.
IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor/physician if you feel unwell. Rinse mouth. (EC 1272/2008)

IF IN EYES: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower
eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.

Notes to Physician: Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Section 5 Fire -Fighting Measures:

Main Hazard: Flammable liquid absorbed onto combustible solid - emits irritant
& toxic fumes. Vapors may be heavier than air. They can spread
along the ground and collect in low or confined areas.

Extinguishing Method: In case of fire: Use dry powder for extinction. (EC 1272/2008)

Special Fire Fighting Procedure: Wear self contained breathing apparatus with full face shield
operated in positive pressure mode, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or
equivalent), and full protective gear.
Unusual Fire Hazards and Explosion Hazards: Will produce black acrid smoke if burned. There is a risk of fine
powders of this type exploding if the powder is ignited whilst
airborne.
Autoignition Temperature: 810F ( 432.22 C)

Section 6 Accidental Release Measures:

General Information Ventilate the area thoroughly and shut off sources of ignition. If necessary evacuate the
area. Use protective equipment as detailed in section 8. Vapors may be heavier than air.
They can spread along the ground and collect in low or confined areas.

Spills/Leaks: Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in section 8. Do not allow powder to dry
out. Absorb spill using an absorbent, non-combustible material and gather up placing in a
clean closed container for disposal. Do not wash away into sewers.

Section 7 Handling and Storage:

Keep away from sparks/open flames. -- No smoking. Keep container tightly closed. Wear protective gloves & eye
protection. Avoid breathing dust/vapours/spray. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Store in a well-ventilated place.
Keep cool ( EC 1272/2008)

Product Specific
Read the Suppliers' Users Guide carefully before commissioning or using the product. The end caps should be
kept firmly in place during storage. .
