3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:Multi-colored granular mix.
IMMEDIATE CONCERNS:May irritate eyes, nose, throat, and skin.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
EYES:May cause eye irritation.
SKIN:May cause skin irritation. Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause
allergic reactions in some individuals.
INGESTION:Ingestion may result in abdonimal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
INHALATION:Dust may be irritating to the nose and respiratory tract, and may cause
sore throat, coughing and shortness of breath.
ACUTE TOXICITY:
Signs and symptoms of overexposure might include headache, dizziness, fever, muscle
aches, weakness, and other minor central nervous system effects.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED:Pre-existing respiratory of skin
conditions.
ROUTES OF ENTRY:Ingestion, inhalation.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
EYES:If in eyes, hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20

minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing.
Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
SKIN:If on skin or clothing, take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately
with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for
treatment advice.
INGESTION:If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately for
treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce
vomiting unless told to by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person.
INHALATION:Move person to fresh air. Call a poison control center or doctor for
further treatment advice. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give
artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. Call a poison control center or doctor for
futher treatment advice.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:Material is non-flammable. Use extinguishing media
suitable for the surrounding fire.
EXPLOSION HAZARDS:Decomposition products may be toxic.

pressure self-contained breathing apparatus.

GENERAL PROCEDURES:Sweep up spills. Use good housekeeping practices. Avoid

contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wash throughly with soap and water after handling. Do no

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING:
See label. Avoid container breakage. Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum,
using tobacco or using toilet. Remove clothing immediately if product gets inside. Wash
thoroughly and put on clean clothing. Keep out of lakes, streams, or ponds. KEEP OUT
OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
STORAGE:
See label. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Avoid container breakage. Keep
container closed and away from food, feedstuffs, and domestic water supplies. Store in a
cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Do not reuse container and do not contaiminate water by
disposing of equipment washwaters.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS:Use adequate ventilation to keep the airborne
concentrations of this material below the recommended exposure standard.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
EYES AND FACE:No special eye protection is necessary under normal conditions of
use, but safety glasses with side shields, goggles, or faceshield are recommended under
conditions of extensive exposure.
SKIN:No special skin protection is necessary under normal conditions of use; however,
long sleeves shirt, and imperable gloves are recommended if exposure is anticipated.
RESPIRATORY:No special respiratory protection is necessary under normal

oyster. Do not apply directly to water. Do not apply in a manner which will directly
expose canals, lakes, streams, ponds, marshes or estuaries to aerial drift. Do not
contaminate water by disposing of equipment washwaters.
