SECTION V - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

FLASH POINT (Method): 480?F/249?C (Pensky-Martens Closed Cup)
LOWER FLAMMABILITY LIMIT: Not available.
UPPER FLAMMABILITY LIMIT: Not available.
AUTOIGNITION TEMPERATURE: Not available.
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (CO2) to extinguish flames.
FIREFIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS: Avoid inhalation of smoke. Do not enter confined fire space without adequate
protective clothing and an approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus. Use water to cool fire-
exposed containers. Material will not burn unless preheated.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and unidentified organic
compounds may be formed upon combustion. Reaction with some curing agents may produce considerable heat,
which could char the reaction mass and produce flames and vapors of unknown composition.

SECTION VI - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
PRECAUTIONS: May burn although not readily ignitable. Isolate hazard area and restrict access. Try to work upwind
of spill. Avoid direct contact with material. Wear appropriate breathing apparatus (if applicable) and clothing.
SPILL MANAGEMENT: Use cautious judgement when cleaning up large spills. Shut off source of leak if safe to do
so. Dike and contain land spills; contain water spills by booming. Use water fog to knock down vapors; contain
runoff. For large spills, remove by mechanical means and place in containers. Absorb residue or small spills
with an absorbent material and remove to nonleaking containers for disposal. Recommended materials: Clay
or sand. Flush area with water to remove trace residue. Dispose of recovered material as noted under Disposal
Considerations. Notify appropriate environmental agency(ies).

SECTION VII - HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING: Do not pressurize drum containers to empty them. This material is a sensitizer. Caution, irritant. Avoid
all direct contact with this material. Empty containers may contain hazardous product residues. Wash with soap and
water before eating, drinking, smoking, applying cosmetics or using toilet facilities. Launder contaminated clothing
before reuse. Contaminated leather articles including shoes cannot be decontaminated and should be destroyed
to prevent reuse. Avoid inhalation of vapors, mists or aerosols which are produced when product is handled at
elevated temperatures or mechanically generated into the air. Heating this resin above 150?C in the presence of
air may cause slow oxidative decomposition. Above 260?C, polymerization may occur. Some curing agents in the
presence of air may cause thermal and oxidative decomposition with some epoxy resins. It may produce exothermic
reactions, which in large masses can cause runaway polymerization and charring of the reactants. Fumes and
vapors from these thermal and chemical decompositions vary widely in composition and toxicity. If this resin is
handled, shipped, or stored in bulk, the recommended pumping temperature is 80?C. To prevent thermal burns,
avoid skin and eye contact with hot liquid.
STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry well-ventilated area, away from heat and ignition sources.

SECTION VIII - EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTIONS
The following information, while appropriate for the product, is general in nature. The selection of personal protective
equipment will vary depending on the conditions of use.
EXPOSURE CONTROLS:
Occupational Exposure Limits: North American exposure limits have not been established for this product.
Consult local authorities for acceptable provincial values.
Mechanical Ventilation: Mechanical ventilation is recommended for all indoor situations to control fugitive
emissions. Make up air should always be supplied to balance air exhausted (either generally or locally). Local
ventilation is recommended at the source of contaminant generation.
