Section 06 Spill, Leak, and Disposal Procedures

Action to take for Spills/Leaks: Neutralize with soda ash or slaked lime and flush away with plenty of
water. Absorbents, such as vermiculite, can be used to soak up the
spilled liquid. Clean up residual with water.

Disposal Method: According to local regulations for acidic solutions containing zinc.
Neutralization may be required before disposal.

Caution: Empty containers may contain product residue. Observe all label
precautions.

Section 08 First Aid Procedures
Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get
medical attention.

Skin: Wash thoroughly with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth; give large quantities of milk or
water to dilute material. Get medical attention immediately.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, oxygen may be given. Call
a physician.

Effects of Chronic (prolonged) Exposure: Prolonged or repeated skin contact can result in burns. Smoke
during soldering can irritate eyes and can cause respiratory system
irritation and damage.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Chemical hypersensitivity, asthma and other
respiratory conditions.

Section 09 Special Handling Information
Ventilation: Provide adequate exhaust ventilation (general and/or local) if necessary
to meet exposure requirements. Local exhaust ventilation is preferred to
minimize dispersion of smoke and fumes into the work area.

Respiratory Protection: Only required if ventilation is inadequate. Use a NIOSH approved
respirator.

Eye Protection: Wear safety goggles.

Skin Protection: Wear rubber/PVC gloves if there is a danger of skin contact.

Other Protective Clothing/Equipment: Impermeable apron when splashing is likely to occur.

Hygienic Work Practices: Wash hands thoroughly before eating or smoking.
