HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
HEALTH EFFECTS
Swallowed
Moderately toxic. May cause chemical pneumonia if aspirated into the bronchial system.
Eye
Mild irritant. Solvent and its vapours may cause irritation to eyes.
Skin
Mild irritant. Skin irritant mainly due to defatting effect of solvent. Not readily absorbed through
skin.
Inhaled
High concentration of solvent vapours can be harmful in enclosed spaces. Excessive inhalation
of vapours can effect the central nervous system leading to a loss of concentration and impaired
judgement. Prolonged exposure can lead to stupor or unconciousness.
FIRST AID
Swallowed
If swallowed do NOT induce vomitting. Give a glass of water. Contact a doctor or the National
Poisons Information Centre.
Eye
Hold eyes open, flood with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.
Skin
Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
