(See Section 8)

Potential Health Effects
Routes of Exposure:
Inhalation:
Inhalation of vapor or mist can cause irritation or burns to the upper
respiratory tract. Intense coughing, throat irritation, sneezing and
labored breathing may occur. Following high exposures lung irrita-
tion, pulmonary edema and death can occur.

Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether is contained in these products at a
maximum of 4%. Ethylene Glycols have been shown to cause harm to the
developing fetus in laboratory animals. Liver, kidney, lung and
blood damage have also been reported. Similar effects are suspected
in humans.

Skin and Eye:
EYE and SKIN contact causes irritation and burns. Vapor can cause
irritation or corneal burns, conjunctivitis and loss of sight. May
cause dermatitis. Ethylene Glycols can be absorbed through the skin
in harmful amounts. Excessive exposure may cause hemolysis which
impairs the bloods ability to transport oxygen.

Ingestion:
Causes irritation and burns to the gastro-intestinal tract. May
perforate stomach or esophagus in extreme cases. May cause
asphyxiation from pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs). Ingestion
can cause death.

SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES

EYE: In case of contact immediately flush eyes with plenty of
water for at least 15 minutes. Do not rub eyes. Get
immediate medical attention.
SKIN: Wash skin with soap and water. If irritation develops
and persists, call a physician. Wash contaminated
clothes before reuse.
INHALATION: If irritation due to inhalation develops, get fresh air.
If symptoms persist, consult a physician.
INGESTION: If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Give large
quantities of water for dilution effect. Rinse mouth
with water. Call physician immediately. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point: Not Determined Flammable Limits:
Method Used: Unknown LEL NA UEL NA
N.F.P.A. Rating: H-3 F-0 R-0

Extinguishing Media

Water fog, foam or CO 2, dry chemical
Special Fire Fighting Procedures
Wear positive pressure self contained breathing apparatus with full
face piece and protective clothing. Do not use direct stream of
water which may splatter this material. Cool containers with
water spray. Prevent runoff from fire control or dilution from
entering streams or drinking water supplies.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards
Product will react with metals (ex.: aluminum, zinc, tin, etc.) to
release explosive flammable hydrogen gas. Heat can cause evolution
of gaseous hydrogen.

SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
U.S. RELEASES
STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED:

CORROSIVE MATERIAL. Evacuate unprotected personnel from area.
Maintain adequate ventilation. Use proper Safety Equipment.
Contain spill, place into drums for proper disposal. Flush
remaining area with water and neutralize with Soda Ash or
Lime and dispose of properly. Avoid direct discharge to sewers
and surface waters.

CANADIAN RELEASES
Prevent product from entering drinking water supplies or streams.
Observe precautions above, collect liquid or solidify liquid with
an inert, noncombustible material and remove for disposal. Dispose
of all waste in accordance with applicable government regulations.

SECTION 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE INFORMATION

Precautionary Measures:
... Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
... Wash thoroughly after handling.
... Avoid breathing vapor or mist.
... Keep containers closed when not in use.
... FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. KEEP OUT OF CHILDREN'S REACH.

SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION/CANADIAN EXPOSURE LIMITS
Ventilation:
Local Exhaust: Use If Available.
Mechanical: Not Generally Available
Special: Not Generally Required
Other: Not Generally Required

Respiratory Protection :
Respirators are not generally required. However, if specific use
causes irritation or exposures above the limits specified in
Section 9 of this MSDS, a NIOSH approved (Type Acid Gas respirator
TC-23C-XXX) with a prefilter for mist is recommended.

Skin Protection:
Gloves resistant to acids should be worn whenever handling this
product.

Eye Protection:
Goggles should be worn if splashing is likely.

Other Protective Clothing or Equipment :
See Work Hygienic Practices.

Work/Hygienic Practices :
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specified above is appropriate
for typical production operations and exposures. For any unusual
situations such as spill clean-up, contact your supervisor or
Health and Safety Coordinator to determine additional PPE require-
ments and Safety procedures.
