Health Effects
Acute
Sw allow ed: Possible Nausea and vomiting. Likely to cause severe irritation and
possible toxic reaction.
Eye: contact w ill cause severe irritation.
Skin: Prolonged or repeated contact may cause irritation and dermatitis.
Inhaled: Vapours may irritate mucous membranes. Prolonged exposure may
cause drow siness and nausea and possible loss of consciousness in
extreme cases.
Chronic Effects: Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause asthma and skin
sensitisation or other allergic response. Long term exposure to solvent
vapours may cause changes to personality and loss of short term
memory.
First Aid
Sw allow ed: Do not induce vomiting. Give milk or w ater to dilute. Seek medical
attention.
Eye: Flush w ith copious quantities of clean w ater holding eyelids open. Seek
medical attention immediately.
Skin: Wash skin w ith soap and w ater. Remove contaminated clothing and
shoes. Seek medical attention if reddening or sw elling occurs.
Inhaled: Move subject to fresh air. Administer artificial respir ation or oxygen if
necessary. Seek medical attention if effects persis t.
Ventilation: Use only w ith excellent ventilation.
Personal Protection: Wear gloves and eye protection. When spraying w ear a
respir ator fitted w ith a combined organic vapour and partic ulate
cartridge.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Handling: Store in a cool dry and w ell ventilated place. Avoid naked flame
and strong oxidis ing agents.
Spills and Disposal: Prevent run-off into storm w ater drains or w aterw ays w ith sand
bags or adsorbent material. Adsorb onto sand and shovel into
open top containers w hich can be sealed. Clean area w ith
detergent and w ater.
Dispose in accordance w ith local body requir ements treating as liquid paint w aste.
