PESTICIDE PRODUCT REGISTRATIONS
Registration is required by Oregon Revised Statutes - Chapter 634 for each pesticide product delivered,
distributed, sold, offered, or exposed for sale in Oregon. For the purpose of registration, a pesticide product is
considered to be a pesticide readily distinguishable from any other pesticide by its content, registration number
assigned by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), brand name, trade name, manufacturer,
registrant, use as specified in labeling, or other distinction, but not including net contents or package size.
Registration Period and Fee: Pesticide registrations are valid for up to one calendar year and expire on December
31 each year. The registration fee currently is $160 per product per year or any portion thereof. One application
form may be used for multiple products. Please tally the number of products and calculate the total fee carefully to
avoid delays in processing your application.
Product Information: For each product to be registered, please enter the full product name, its EPA Reg. No. and
specific gravity1, and any of the following designations that apply: A if the product is an antimicrobial pesticide;
F2 if the pesticide product is subject to registration as a fertilizer/lime/agricultural amendment/agricultural mineral;
H if the product is primarily intended for use in/around households; R if the product is classified by EPA as a
Restricted Use Pesticide.
The specific gravity should be expressed to three decimal places (e.g., 1.234).
1
Concurrent registration as a fertilizer, agricultural mineral or amendment, or lime is required for each
2
pesticide product that also contains ingredients designed or intended as a source of plant food, to induce or
increase crop yields or plant growth, or to produce any physical or chemical change in the soil. Please visit our
Fertilizer Program web site for these registration requirements: http://oregon.gov/ODA/PEST/fertilizer.shtml
Product Labels: For each product to be registered, submit three (3) copies of the labeling that is affixed to and/or
distributed with the product in the marketplace. Supplemental labels, FIFRA Section 2(ee) recommendations,
booklets, pamphlets, applicator鈥檚 manuals, etc, that contain 鈥淒irections For Use鈥? are all considered pesticide
product labeling and must be submitted with the application. Three (3) complete paper copies of the product
labeling are required; electronic and/or CD submissions of labeling are not accepted at this time.
EPA Stamped/Accepted Labels REQUIRED: For each product to be registered, submit one (1) paper copy of
the EPA stamped/accepted label upon which the product labeling is based. Your application cannot be processed
without this documentation. If applicable, a copy of federally registered labeling as revised and accepted via
notification may substitute for the EPA stamped/accepted label.
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and Confidential Statement of Formula (CSF): NOT required.
Manufacturing Use Only Products: Technical grade products that are labeled only for formulating end-use
pesticide products that are EPA registered. These products are NOT required to be registered in Oregon.
Adjuvants/Surfactants: These products are NOT required to be registered in Oregon.
FIFRA 25(b) Exempt Products: Pesticide products containing only specifically designated 鈥渕inimum risk鈥?
active and inert ingredients that are exempt from EPA registration requirements under FIFRA Section 25(b).
These products are NOT required to be registered in Oregon. However, as a courtesy, please submit a copy of the
labeling for such products to us for verification of exempt status.
Renewing Registrations: Registration renewal notification/applications for all registered pesticide products are
mailed out in mid-November each year.
Revised Labels: If product marketing labels are revised mid-year, please submit three (3) copies of revised product
labels along with one (1) copy of the EPA stamped/accepted label. There is no fee for revised labels.
If you have any questions, please contact ODA Pesticides Division at (503) 986-4635.
