HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Health Effects:
Acute:
Swallowed: Based on animal studies, methoprene has a very low toxicity.

Eye: Mild irritant (from the solvent).

Skin: Mild irritant (from the solvent) and drying to the skin.

Inhaled: Solvent fumes may produce respiratory irritation and can result in
headaches, dizziness and possibly nausea.

Chronic: Repeated exposures may cause allergic disorders.

Animal studies:
In 2-year feeding trials, rats receiving 5,000 mg/kg diet and mice
receiving 2,500 mg/kg diet showed no ill effects.
No teratogenic effects on rats at 1,000 mg/kg or on rabbits at 500 mg/kg.
No mutagenic effects on rats at 2,000 mg/kg.
No reproductive adverse effects in 3-generation reproduction studies on
rats at 2,500 mg/kg diet.
Toxicity class: WHO Table 5; US EPA IV.

First Aid If poisoning occurs, immediately contact a doctor or Poisons
Information Centre (telephone 13 11 26), and follow the advice
given. Show this Material Safety Data Sheet to a doctor.
Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Give a glass of water and seek medical advice.
Eye: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off skin
immediately with soap and plenty of water. Seek medical advice if
irritation persists. Launder contaminated clothing before re-use.
Inhaled: Remove person to fresh air. Seek medical advice.

First Aid Facilities: No specific facilities required.

Advice to Doctor: There is no specific antidote. Treat symptoms.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Exposure Standards: No exposure standard has been assigned by the National Occupational
Health and Safety Commission (Worksafe Australia). The manufacturer of
the hydrocarbon solvent recommends a TWA exposure limit of 100 ppm.

Engineering Controls: Control process conditions to avoid contact. Use local exhaust
ventilation during manufacture and use.

Personal Protection: Eyes: Chemical goggles
Clothing: Full-length work clothes
Gloves: PVC or nitrile gloves
Respiratory: Approved pesticides respirator to avoid inhaling vapour
or spray mixture.
Other: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not eat, drink or
smoke until after washing. Wash thoroughly after
handling. After each day鈥檚 use wash gloves, goggles and
contaminated clothing.

Flammability: Diacon S IGR Grain Protector is a combustible liquid.

Storage and
Transport:
Corrosivity Hazards: None known

Handling & Storage Keep out of reach of children. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Store
Precautions: product in the closed, original container in a safe, cool, well-ventilated
area. Protect from light. Do not apply in the presence of naked
flames, hot surfaces or unprotected electrical equipment.

Transport: The product is not classified as Dangerous Goods under the Australian
Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail.

Spills and Disposal:
Spillage or Leak Wear suitable protective clothing and boots. Prevent spill from
Procedures: entering drains, sewers or any body of water. Contain and absorb with
sand, earth or inert absorbent. Scoop or shovel into sealable containers
for disposal.

Waste Disposal Follow Avcare guidelines. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers

undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean
containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling,

Special Fire Fighting This product is a combustible liquid. Heating/combustion will
