Section 05 Reactivity Data

Stability: Stable

Conditions to avoid: N/A

Hazardous Polymerization: Will Not Occur

Conditions to avoid: N/A

Incompatibility: Oxidizers

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Carbon monoxide and/or carbon dioxide. Thermal decomposition may
produce CO, abietic acid, aliphatic aldehydes, terpenes and other acids.

Section 06 Spill, Leak and Disposal Procedures
Action to take for Spills/Leaks: Eliminate potential source of ignition. Wear appropriate respirator and
other protective clothing. Shut-off source of leak if safe to do so. Spill
should be collected for proper disposal. Take up with an absorbent
material and place in non-leaking containers.

Disposal Method: Incinerate in a furnace where permitted under appropriate federal, state
and local regulations.

Section 07 Health Hazard Data
Eye: Irritant. May cause corneal injury.
Skin Contact: Prolonged or repeated contact can cause defatting dermatitis. May also
cause an allergic skin reaction such as a rash.
Skin Absorption: Frequent, prolonged or widespread skin contact may result in the
absorption of potentially harmful amounts. Signs and symptoms may be
similar to those of swallowing.
Ingestion: Slightly toxic. Causes drowsiness, nausea, stomach cramps etc.
Ingestion of product may result in vomiting, aspiration "breathing" of
vomitus into the lungs MUST be avoided as even small quantities may
result in aspiration pneumonitis.
Inhalation: High vapor concentrations may result in CNS depression. Exposure to
rosin smoke may cause dizziness and headache. May also cause an
allergic reaction such as throat and respiratory irritation and damage.
Systemic & Other Effects: Pre-existing eye and skin disorders may be aggravated by exposure to
this product.

Section 08 First Aid Procedures
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes thoroughly with water and continue washing for
at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention, preferably from an
ophthalmologist, urgently.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing, flush skin with water. Follow by washing
with soap and water. If irritation occurs, get medical attention. Do not
reuse clothing until cleaned.
Ingestion: If large quantity swallowed, give luke warm water (pint) if victim is
completely conscious/alert. Do not induce vomiting / risk of damage to
lungs exceeds poisoning risk. Obtain emergency medical attention.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Give artificial respiration not breathing. Qualified
personnel may give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Call a physician.
Note to Physician: There is no specific antidote. Treatment of over-exposure should be
directed at the control of symptoms and the clinical condition of the
patient.
