Subchronic Toxicity Data : Subchronic testing on cyromazine has produced limited
adverse effects with no overt toxicity or mortality reported.
Some minor body weight, blood, and liver effects have been
reported.
Reproductive Toxicity Data : A two-generation feeding reproductive study on cyromazine
in rats resulted in a reproductive NOEL of 50 mg/kg/day. The
reproductive LEL was 150 mg/kg/day due to decreased pup
weights and increased pup mortality. The NOEL and LEL
values for systemic effects were 1.5 mg/kg/day and 50
mg/kg/day, respectively.
Teratogenicity (birth defects) Data : A teratology study on cyromazine in rabbits resulted in a
teratogenic NOEL of 5 mg/kg/day. The teratogenic LEL was
10 mg/kg/day due to cyclopia and diaphragmatic hernia. The
maternal NOEL was 10 mg/kg/day. The maternal LEL was 30
mg/kg/day due to body weight gain depression and reduction
in food consumption. Separately, a teratology study on
cyromazine in rats resulted in a developmental toxicity LEL of
100 mg/kg/day due to increased skeletal variations. (There
was no NOEL.) The maternal NOEL was 100 mg/kg/day. The
maternal LEL was 300 mg/kg/day due to body weight gain
depression and reduction in food consumption.
Mutagenicity Data : Cyromazine has generally produced negative results in in
vitro and in vivo mutagenicity assays.
Chronic/Carcinogenicity Data : Cyromazine was tested in a two-year oral rat feeding study.
No carcinogenic effects were observed. The systemic NOEL
was 1.5 mg/kg/day. The systemic LEL was 15 mg/kg/day due
to decreased body weights.
Other Information : The data presented here on the cyromazine are for the active
ingredient only and do not necessarily represent the
toxicological profile of the product as a whole.
