4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Swallowed: If swallowed, contact Doctor or Emergency Advice All Hours Australia Wide on 131 126
immediately. DO NOT induce vomiting and give glass of water to rinse out mouth and wash
any residue off skin.
Eye: If in eyes, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, ensuring eyelids are held open and
see a Doctor.
Skin: If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and
water.
Inhaled: Move to fresh air. Monitor for respiratory distress. Seek medical attention if irritation occurs.
First Aid Facilities: Eye wash, shower and normal washroom facilities.
Advice to Doctor: Treat symptomatically as with exposure to alkaline substances. If skin sensitisation
has developed and a causal relationship has been confirmed, further exposure
should not be allowed.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Specific hazards: Non-flammable material under ADG code
Special protective precautions and equipment: Not combustible, however following evaporation of
aqueous component residual material can burn if ignited. On burning may emit toxic fumes. Fire fighters to
wear self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing if risk of exposure to vapour or
products of combustion.
Suitable extinguishing media: Not combustible, however, if material is involved in a fire use water fog (or if
unavailable fine water spray), foam, dry agent (carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder).

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Small Spills: Wear protective equipment to prevent skin and eye contamination. Wipe up with absorbent
(clean rag or paper towels). Collect and seal in properly labelled containers or drums for disposal.
Large spills: Avoid accidents, clean up immediately. Wear protective equipment to prevent skin and eye
contamination and the inhalation of vapours. Work up wind or increase ventilation.
Contain - prevent run off into drains and waterways. Use absorbent (soil, sand or other inert material).
Collect and seal in properly labelled containers or drums for disposal. If contamination of sewers or
waterways has occurred advise local emergency services and dilute with plenty of water.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling Precautions: Wear protective goggles, face shield, rubber gloves and protective clothing to
prevent skin and eye contamination. Ensure a high level of personal hygiene is maintained when using this
product. Always wash hands before eating, drinking, smoking or using the toilet.
Precautions for Storage: Keep in cool, dry storage area. Keep containers closed when not in use.
Only store material in original container, do not store with dangerous when wet substances (class 4.3),
oxidising agents (class 5), cyanides (class 6), strong acids (class 8) or foodstuffs.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Personal Protective Equipment:
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes, and avoid breathing vapours or mists. When exposure is likely,
personal protective equipment in a combination appropriate to the degree and nature of exposure, should be
selected from the following list:-
(1) Eye protection
(2) Neoprene, butyl rubber gloves
(3) Leather boots
CONTAMINATION
If contamination occurs, change clothing taking care to avoid skin contact with the contaminated area, and
discard internally contaminated gloves and footwear. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
Observe good personal hygiene. Eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available for emergency
use.
Engineering Controls: Special ventilation is not normally required due to the low volatility of the product at
normal temperatures. However, in the operation of certain equipment or at elevated temperatures, mists or
vapour may be generated and exhaust ventilation should be provided to maintain airborne concentration
levels as low as is reasonably practicable.
