Scientific Background
Heat shock protein 60 (Hsp60) is a molecular chaperone that participates in the
folding of mitochondrial proteins and facilitates proteolytic degradation of
misfolded or denatured proteins. Hsp60 is strongly dependent upon its co-
chaperone, Hsp10 that binds the molecule and regulates its substrate binding and
ATPase activity 1,2,3. Hsp60 is rapidly upregulated by a range of cellular insults
including oxidative stress, viral infection, chemical exposure, increased

Anti-Human Hsp60 Standard: CAUTION! The toxicological properties of this material have not been fully investigated. This product
is derived from human origin. Although tests are negative for infectious diseases, this product should be handled as a potentially
infectious biological material. The serum that this product was derived from was tested by FDA approved methods as defined by the
American Red Cross. Tests were negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, HIV p24 and non-reactive to HbsAg, HVC 3 and STS. No known test
method can offer complete assurance that Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis C virus, HIV-1, HIV-2 or other infectious agents are absent.

Section 3 - Physical Data
The physical properties of the kit components have not been investigated thoroughly.

Kit components (except TMB) are stable. Avoid contact with reducing agents, amines, strong acids, strong bases, and strong
oxidizing agents.

TMB: Unstable. Protect from direct UV light, avoid elevated temperatures, protect from moisture. Incompatible with strong
oxidizing agents, metals.
Acid Stop Solution: Stable. Avoid elevated temperatures. Incompatible with organics, alkalies, oxidizing agents.

Section 6 - Toxicological Properties
The toxicological properties of the kit components have not been investigated. Kit components may burn eyes severely, be harmful if
absorbed through skin, burn skin severely, irritate respiratory tract, be harmful if inhaled, be harmful if swallowed. May cause an
allergic reaction in some individuals.

Anti-Human Hsp60 Standard: CAUTION! The toxicological properties of this material have not been fully investigated. This product
is derived from human origin. Although tests are negative for infectious diseases, this product should be handled as a potentially
infectious biological material.
TMB: Irritant to eyes and skin. May cause irritation of the digestive tract and respiratory tract.
Acid Stop Solution: Corrosive to skin and eyes. Inhalation of vapours may cause irritation of nasal and respiratory tract. Ingestion
causes gastrointestinal tract discomfort, nausea and vomiting

Section 7 - Preventative Measures
Wear chemical safety goggles and compatible chemical-resistant gloves. Avoid inhalation, contact with eyes, skin or clothing.

Wear protective equipment (respirator, chemical safety goggles, rubber boots, and heavy rubber gloves).

Section 8 - First Aid Measures
If TMB is ingested, induce vomiting and call a physician. If Stop Solution is swallowed, do not induce vomiting, rinse mouth
?br> with water, then drink lots of water to dilute in the stomach. For all other components, if swallowed wash out mouth with water,
provided person is conscious. Call a physician.
In case of skin contact, flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If a
?br> rash or other irritation develops, call a physician.
If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing becomes difficult, call a physician.
?br> In case of eye contact, flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes while separating the eyelids with fingers. Call a
