4. FIRST AID MEASURES
General Information: If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre
on 131126 from anywhere in Australia.
Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air and keep rested until recovered. If breathing
difficulties occur, seek medical advice.
Skin Contact: If product gets on skin, wash affected area thoroughly with soap and
water. Remove any contaminated clothing. No further measures are
normally required, but if irritation is noted, seek medical advice.
Eye Contact: Hold eye open and wash with gently flowing water for at least 15
minutes, including under eyelids. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion: If swallowed, contact a doctor immediately. If more than 15 minutes
from a hospital, induce vomiting, preferably by using Ipecac Syrup APF.
Rinse mouth with water.
Symptoms of Poisoning: Decreased activity, slow rate of breathing, pupil dilation, muscle tremors
and lack of co-ordination.
Advice to Doctor: No specific antidote is available. Treatment is both symptomatic and
supportive.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Fire and Explosion Hazards: The product is non-explosive and non-flammable, but it is a combustible
liquid. It may support combustion at elevated temperatures. Sealed,
overheated containers may burst unpredictably. Thermal decomposition
may produce smoke and toxic by-products.
Fire Extinguisher type: Carbon Dioxide, dry chemical, foam or water fog. Water fog or fine
spray is preferred for the control of large fires.
Fire Fighting Procedures
& Precautions: Isolate fire area, and evacuate unnecessary personnel. Wear full
protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. All skin
areas should be covered. Do not breathe or contact smoke or vapors
generated in the fire. Keep containers cool with soft stream water fog.
Flash Point: Approx. 70癈
Flammability Class: Non- flammable.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE/ SPILLS MEASURES
Dealing with spills has the potential to increase the risk of personal exposure- during such operations, ensure
that protective clothing is worn as detailed below. Avoid contact with spilled material or contaminated
surfaces. Keep people and animals away. If applicable, and safe to do so, reposition any leaking containers
to prevent or minimize any further leakage. Prevent spillage from entering drains, sewers or watercourses. If
contamination thereof is unavoidable, warn the local water authority. Spills should be contained and
absorbed with soil, sand, sawdust, clay, cat litter or other similar material, and once absorption is complete,
this material then be placed in sealable, labeled, drums for safe disposal in an approved landfill, and in
accordance with the requirements of local or State Waste Management Authorities. Alternatively, bury under
at least 500mm of soil in an area away from crops, pastures, homes or water sources. To decontaminate spill
area, tools and equipment, wash with a suitable solution, e.g. organic solvent, detergent, bleach or caustic,
and add this material to the drums of waste already collected. Label all contents. Do not burn empty
containers or product.

Handling: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale spray mist.
Storage: Store product in the closed, original container in a cool, dry, well-
ventilated area at room temperature (below 30癈). Do not store for
prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS & PERSONAL PROTECTION
Exposure Limits: Not set. The acceptable daily intake for Abamectin is set at
0.0002mg/kg/day.
Ventilation: Local exhaust ventilation is recommended when preparing spray.
Personal Protective
Equipment: When opening the container, preparing spray or using prepared spray,
wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, and a washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves and
goggles. For space applications, wear PPE as before, and additionally wear a half-face respirator with dust
cartridge or canister. After each days use, wash gloves, respirator or face piece and contaminated clothing.
Eye Protection: Goggles or face shield should be used when opening container, mixing
or using prepared spray.
Skin Protection: PVC gloves and cotton overalls
Respirator: Wear a half-face respirator with dust cartridge or canister when using
prepared spray for external applications.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Dispose of empty, used containers by triple rinsing, or preferably pressure rinsing. Add the rinsate to the
spray tank or dispose of the rinsate in a disposal pit away from desirable plants and their roots and from
watercourses. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return cleaned
containers to a recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture empty
containers and bury in a local authority landfill. If no landfill available, bury the containers at least 500mm deep
in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and
tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.
