3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Moderately toxic by ingestion. Ethyl acetate may cause anemia. Prolonged and repeated exposure to
Toxicity:
methyl ethyl ketone and/or n-hexane may cause peripheral neuropathy by damaging peripheral nerve
tissue (that of arms and legs) and result in muscular weakness and loss of sensation. Excessive inhalation
causes headache, dizziness, nausea, and incoordination. Long term exposure to high concentrations of
vapor may cause lung, liver or kidney damage. May cause eye, skin and respiratory irritation. Reports have
associated repeated and prolonged overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system
damage (sometimes referred to as "solvent" or "painter's syndrome"). Symptoms include fatigue,
concentration difficulties, anxiety, depression, rapid mood swings, and short-term memory loss.
Eye and skin contact, ingestion, inhalation
Primary Routes of Entry:
Excessive overexposure may cause giddiness, dizziness, headache, nausea and in extreme cases,
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:
unconsciousness and respiratory depression. May cause pain, redness or swelling of the eyes and
excessive blinking and tear production.

Medical Conditions Recognized as
Being Aggravated by Exposure:
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Do not induce vomiting. Slowly dilute with 1-2 glasses of water or milk and seek medical attention. Never
Ingestion:
give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapours. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
Inhalation:
Obtain medical attention.
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash area with soap and water. If irritation persists, seek medical

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Store away from heat, sparks or open flame. Do not store at temperatures above 100癋 (38癈).
Storage:
Avoid breathing vapors, if exposed to high vapor concentration, leave area at once. Avoid contact with skin
Handling:
and eyes. Do not use near heat, sparks or open flame. Keep container closed when not in use. Vapors
may accumulate readily and may ignite explosively. Wash thoroughly after handling.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Safety glasses with side shields or chemical goggles.
Eyes:
Neoprene or nitrile gloves recommended.
Skin:
General; local exhaust ventilation as necessary to control any air contaminants to within their exposure
Ventilation:
