6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
SAFEGUARDS (PERSONNEL):
Protect skin and eyes from exposure. If excessive dust is created, wear dust mask or respirator to keep exposure below the
Permissible Exposure Level for particulate matter.

SPILL PROCEDURE:
Do not attempt clean up with water. Take up and place in secure closed containers. Avoid disposal into waste water treatment
facilities.

If disposing of this product as waste, it may be classified as a TCLP (Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure) waste material. All
waste materials should be packaged, labeled, and transported in accordance with all national, state/provincial, and local
requirements.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING (PERSONNEL):
Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

HANDLING (PHYSICAL ASPECTS):
Do not create excessive dust. Follow good housekeeping and hygiene practices to help prevent accidental exposure or ingestion.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
ENGINEERING CONTROLS:
Use only with adequate ventilation. Facilities storing or using this material should be equipped with an eye wash and safety
shower.

EYE / FACE PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
Chemical goggles are recommended to avoid contact with eyes.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
Atmospheric levels should be maintained below the exposure guideline. If airborne concentrations exceed the OSHA exposure
limit for dust, a NIOSH approved dust mask is recommended.

TOXICOLOGICAL TESTING:
Acute Oral Toxicity (Rat): LD50 > 5000 mg/kg.

Acute Dermal Toxicity (Rat): > 2000 mg/Kg.

This material was not a skin sensitizer in the Buehler Guinea Pig Sensitization Test.

The 4-hour inhalation LC50 in rats is greater than 5.18 mg/l.

Primary Eye Irritation (Rabbit): The material, as tested, caused slight to moderate irritation, which returned to normal after 2 - 3
days.

Primary Skin Irritation (White Rabbit): Very slight dermal irritation [P.I.I = 0.1].

In Vitro Microbiological Mutagenicity (Ames Test): Non-mutagenic.

UNCONTROLLED DOCUMENT
Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 Page 5 of 7
MSDS Number: 710100 November 22, 2002

Mutagenicity Test in Mouse Lymphoma: Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 induced small but reproducible statistically
significant increases in the mutant frequency at the TK +/- locus in L5178Y cells in the absence of metabolic activation.
Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 was therefore considered to be mutagenic under the conditions of the test.

90 Day Feeding Study (Rats): Dietary administration of the test material to rats for a period of ninety consecutive days at dietary
concentration of up to 20000 ppm resulted in toxicologically significant effects at 20000 and 5000 ppm. No such effects were
demonstrated at 1000 ppm. The accumulation of brown pigment identified histopathologically throughout the treatment groups
was considered not to represent an adverse health effect. For the purposes of hazard evaluation therefore, the 'No Observed
Effect Levels' (NOEL) should be regarded as 1000 ppm.

Oral Gavage Teratology Study (Rat): Females dosed with Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 from day 6 to 15 of gestation at dose
levels up to and including 1000 mg/kg showed no evidence of maternal toxicity and no significant effects on the growth and
development of offspring.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
ECOLOGICAL TESTING:
The 96-hour LC50 in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is 643 ug/l.

The 48-hour EC50 in daphnia (Daphnia magna) is 23 ug/l.

Based on testing of similar compounds, Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 is expected to be inhibitory to Algal growth at
concentrations between 0.1 and 1.0 mg/l.

Avian Acute Oral Toxicity in Bobwhite Quail with Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000: The acute oral LD50 of Antimicrobial
AlphaSan速 RC 2000 was determined to be greater than 2000 mg/kg body weight. With regard to sublethal effects (diarrhea was
noted 7.5 hours post-dosing and on Test Day 3 of the study in the 2000 mg/kg group), a NOEL was not achieved in this study.
With regard to mortality, the NOEL was 2000 mg/kg body weight.

ENVIRONMENTAL FATE:
Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 is not biodegradable.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
WASTE DISPOSAL:
Avoid disposal into waste water treatment facilities. Uncleaned empty containers should be disposed of in the same manner as
the contents. If disposing of this product as waste, it may be classified as a TCLP (Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure)
waste material.

The EAK number for Antimicrobial AlphaSan速 RC 2000 is H12 06 13 01.

All waste materials should be packaged, labeled, and transported in accordance with all national, state/provincial, and local
requirements.
