Flash Point: N/D Ignition Temperature: N/D Flammable Limits: LEL - 40mg/1, UEL - N/A
Extinguishing Media: Do not use water or halogenated extinguishing agents. For large bulk quantities, use dry sand, avoid creating dust
clouds, eliminate drafts, let fire extinguish itself.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Use approved self-contained breathing apparatus. Aluminum dust may ignite by static
discharge and burn at extremely high temperatures. Aluminum dust is explosive over a fairly wide range of loadings depending
upon particle size, surface area, and other factors..

5. REACTIVITY DATA
Stability: Stable under normal conditions for intended use. Hazardoux Polymerization: Will not occur.
Conditions To Avoid: Dust clouds of bulk quantities. Aluminum powder oxidizes when heated at a temperature dependent
rate; reacts violently with oxidizers to produce heat; reacts with water and slowly generates heat and hydrogen; reacts with
mineral acids and strong alkalis to form hydrogen gas; reacts violently with halogenated hydrocarbons.
Incompatibility: Water, mineral acids, harsh alkalis, and halogenated compounds. See NFPA #491M for specific incompatible materials.
seal
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Unknown, See Conditions to Avoid.
6. HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Effects of Overexposure Acute & Chronic:
Effects of Chronic Exposure: None Known
Ingestion: May produce mucous membrane irritation and gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Eye Contact: Dust may produce severe irritation; particles may produce minor irritation.
Skin Contact: Prolonged contact may produce defatting and drying of skin
Inhalation: Dust clouds may produce headache, nasal & upper respiratory tract irritation.
Emergency and First Aid Procedures:
Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Rinse mouth with water. Contact physician to treat symptomatically.
Eye Contact: Flush with copius amounts of water. If irritation persists, contact physician.

7. PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE
Spill or Leak Procedures: Bulk quantities contain spill. Sweep up with non-sparking broom and use non-sparking shovel to
place in approved storage container. If not seriously contaminated, repackage for reuse. Otherwise, discard in accordance with
local, state, and federal regulations. Advise authorities if released into sewers, watercourses, or extensive land areas.
Handling and Storing: Store in dry area separate from incompatible materials. Wear approved safety glasses when handling.
Other Precautions: Avoid breathing dust. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. Avoid eye contact. Do not ingest. Wash skin with
soap and water after contact and before handling foodstuffs and drink.
8. CONTROL MEASURES
Respiratory Protection: No special protection required under normal usage. Use an approved self-contained breathing ap-
paratus when dust clouds of bulk quantities are present.
Ventilation: Normally, local exhaust ventilation is all thats required.
Gloves: Rubber gloves with prolonged or continuous skin contact of bulk quantities.
Eye Protection: Wear approved safety glasses with splash guard shields or safety goggles when handling aluminum powder.
Other Protective Equipment: Rubber apron to protect clothes, barrier cream for exposed skin areas.
