SECTION 4 SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
HANDLING AND STORAGE: Protective equipment required. Refer to Section 8.

MSDS 43-2 Page 1 of 3
SECTION 5 CORROSIVITY AND REACTIVITY DATA

STABILITY: MATERIAL IS STABLE UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS OF TRANSPORT AND STORAGE.
POLYMERIZATION: HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION WILL NOT OCCUR. INCOMPATIBILITIES (MATERIALS TO
AVOID): AVOID CONTACT OF CONCENTRATE WITH STRONG ACIDS. Not suitable for use on Magnesium (may
self ignite). Contains Amines. Do not add nitrosating agents as cancer causing nitrosamines could be formed.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Oxides of Sulfur, Nitrogen and Carbon from thermal decomposition.

SECTION 6 HEALTH, FIRST AID AND MEDICAL DATA
PRIMARY ROUTE(S) OF ENTRY ARE: INGESTION, INHALATION AND SKIN ABSORPTION. ACUTE AND
CHRONIC HEALTH EFFECTS AND EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE- The information presented and the
conclusions drawn are from other than direct test data. This hazard evaluation is based on information from similar
products, ingredients and professional experience.

ACUTE: EYE: Eye irritation and possible tissue damage from concentrate based on presence of Amines.
Symptoms include severe pain, itching, burning and redness of the eye. Minor irritation of eye characterized by
itching, blinking and redness of the eye from contact with diluted material according to length of exposure. SKIN:
Concentrate may cause skin irritation and/or delayed skin burns according to length of exposure. Continuous
contact with properly diluted material may cause skin irritation and redness similar to "dish pan hands" from the
detergent action of the coolant. People with fair skin, red hair or freckles may experience increased skin senisitivity
when exposed to metalworking fluids. INHALATION: Inhalation of concentrate mist expected to cause corrosive
damage to tissue in the nose, mouth, breathing passages and lungs. Inhalation of normally diluted material may
cause minor irritation, coughing, sore throat or chest pains. Symptoms of overexposure to mist include coughing,
sore throat, headache, chest pain and difficult breathing. Predisposing factors: Individuals with pre-existing
respiratory impairments (such as emphyzema) can display increased sensitivity to coolant mists or vapors.
INGESTION: Not expected to be toxic under normal conditions of use. CHRONIC: No other applicable information
found.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID
INHALATION: Remove from further exposure. If unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate medical assistance and
call a physician. If breathing has stopped, begin mouth to mouth resuscitation. EYE CONTACT: Remove contact
lenses (if wearing) and flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention to check for possible irritation.
SKIN CONTACT: Wash contact areas with mild non-abrasive soap and water. INGESTION: Give two (2) glasses of
water and induce vomiting. Immediately contact physician and obtain treatment.

SECTION 7 HANDLING, STORAGE AND USE PROCEDURES

NORMAL STORAGE AND HANDLING: Store under ordinary conditions. If stored outdoors, store so as to shed
water. Protect from freezing. NORMAL USE: Use only as recommended. Avoid all contact of concentrate with
eyes or prolonged contact with skin. Avoid wearing clothing soaked with fluid. Do not swallow material. Practice
good personal hygiene by washing hands several times each day. Avoid prolonged inhalation of mist or vapors. Do
not transfer to unlabeled containers. Do not reuse containers for other materials or purposes. FOR INDUSTRIAL
USE ONLY. Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for use in or around household or dwelling. All precautions
detailed on the container label apply to partially full or empty container. Do not pressurize container as doing so
may cause container to burst, potentially causing serious injury or death. Do not attempt to clean as residue is
difficult to remove. Containers should be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner and in accordance with
applicable governmental regulations. STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE OF LEAKS OR SPILLS: Concentrate: Soak
up liquid with absorbent and incinerate. MIX: Flush with water to sewer. WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS: FOR
USED MIX: 1) Ultra-filtration for sewer disposal or acid split. Dispose of bottom water layer (after correcting pH) by
sanitary sewer and top polymer and oil layer by incineration. FOR UNUSED CONCENTRATE: Incinerate, or contact
vendor. Dispose of in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules, orders and
ordinances.

SECTION 8 PERSONAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Not normally required. Avoid inhalation of mist. SKIN PROTECTION: Waterproof
(Nitrile) gloves required when handling concentrate. Skin protection not normally required when working with mixed
coolant. EYE PROTECTION: Safety shield or goggles required when handling concentrate. Always wear safety
glasses while operating machinery. VENTILATION-LOCAL: Normal MECHANICAL: Not required. OTHER: No
applicable information found. OTHER EQUIPMENT: Effective metal-working plant rotective clothing as appropriate.

SECTION 9 FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA

FLASH POINT: Mix- Self-extinguishing / Concentrate- Waterbased product. Does not respond to test. Will burn if
sufficiently preheated to drive off water. EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical and water fog.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Toxic fumes. Oxides of nitrogen, sulfur and carbon. FLAMMABLE
LIMITS-LEL: UNKNOWN UEL: UNKNOWN SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Treat as oil fire.
Recommend fire fighters wear self-contained breathing apparatus with full facepiece operated in a pressure-demand
or other positive pressure mode and full body protective clothing.
