o Personal Protection: B
(See Section 8)
Potential Health Effects
Routes of Exposure:
Inhalation:
Not expected to cause any adverse effects under normal use conditions.
However, product applications which generate a spray mist may cause
respiratory irritation resulting in coughing and breathing difficulties.
Skin and Eye:
EYE contact will cause irritation resulting in burning and tearing.
SKIN contact may cause irritation resulting in redness. Skin sensitization
may occur in a small portion of exposed persons. Repeated contact can
result in an allergic reaction such as rash or hives.
Ingestion:
May irritate the linings of the mouth, throat and stomach causing pain,
nausea and vomiting. Large amounts of this product may be harmful
based on Dimethoxane content. Dimethoxane is considered moderately toxic
although its specific effects on humans are unknown. Liver and kidney
damage from chronic overexposure to some ingredients has been demonstrated
in laboratory animals.
MP-90092 MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET Page 3 of 8
SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION (Cont'd)
Carcinogenicity Information:
This product may contain a small amount (0.2% max.) of Dimethoxane as a
preservative. Dimethoxane is listed by IARC as a Group 3 Agent which is
"Not classifiable As To Its carcinogenicity To Humans". However,
Dimethoxane was shown to be carcinogenic in male rats after its oral
administration (IARC) and there was equivocal evidence of carcinogenic
activity when fed to male mice (NTP).
SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
EYE: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of
water for at least 15 minutes. Do not rub eyes. Get
medical attention immediately.
SKIN: Wash skin with soap and water. If irritation develops and
persists, call a physician. Wash contaminated clothes
before reuse.
INHALATION If irritation due to inhalation develops, get fresh air.
If symptoms persist, consult a physician.
INGESTION: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give large quantities
of water to drink for dilution effect. Rinse mouth with
water call physician immediately. Never give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person.
SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point: >100癈/212癋 Flammable Limits:
Method Used: Estimated (aqueous solution) LEL N/A UEL N/A
N.F.P.A. Rating: H-1 F-0 R-0
Extinguishing Media
Product is an aqueous solution and unlikely to burn until all
water is evaporated. In case of fire, use water, dry chemical,
Carbon dioxide or "alcohol" foam.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards
Not Applicable
MP-90092 MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET Page 4 of 8
SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Prevent product from entering drinking water supplies or streams.
Observing the precautions noted above, collect liquid or absorb
liquid with an inert, noncombustible material and remove for disposal.
Spill reporting requirements and reportable quantities vary by
region. In case of any spill or release, consult Section 6, 13 and
15 of the MSDS and all applicable state and local regulations.
SECTION 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE INFORMATION
Precautionary Measures:
... Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
... Wash thoroughly after handling.
... Avoid breathing vapors or mist.
... Keep containers closed when not in use.
... FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. KEEP OUT OF CHILDREN'S REACH.
SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Ventilation:
Local Exhaust: Not generally required.
Mechanical: Not generally required.
Special: Not generally required.
Other: Not generally required.
Respiratory Protection:
Respirators are not generally required. However, if specific use
causes irritation, an approved organic vapor respirator with a
prefilter for mist is recommended.
Skin Protection:
Impervious rubber or synthetic gloves recommended to guard against
prolonged or repeated contact.
Eye Protection:
Goggles recommended if splashing is likely.
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment:
Wear appropriate clothing to prevent skin contact.
MP-90092 MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET Page 5 of 8
SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION (Cont'd)
Work/Hygienic Practices:
Do not formulate with Nitrates. Secondary and tertiary amines may
react to form Nitrosamines. Some Nitrosamines have been shown
to be carcinogenic in laboratory animals.
This product may contain up to 2.5ppm Residual ethylene oxide (ETO).
According to our supplier (for the raw material contributing the
Residual ETO) each 1ppm of ETO liquid can produce 5-7ppm ETO vapor
in the head-space of storage vessels. Head-spaces must be ventilated
and checked for ETO vapor prior to performing any maintenance or non-
routine tasks where exposures could occur. Refer to the OSHA Ethylene
Oxide Standard 1910.1047 for Control Measures.
