--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This product is classified as hazardous according to the criteria of the National
Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC). The product as delivered or used
does not release airborne dusts, but sanding, cutting, grinding or polishing areas coated
with the product may produce dust which contain crystalline silica. Repeated inhalation
of respirable crystalline silica (quartz) dust may cause serious illness - see Chronic health
effects (below).

mouthful of the Wet Area Base Coat may result in abdominal discomfort.

Eye: Splashes or dust from the dried product may irritate the eyes causing watering and
redness.

Skin: This product and its dust, particularly in association with heat and sweat, may cause skin
irritation.
Inhaled: Inhalation of dust from this product may irritate the nose and throat and respiratory system
causing coughing and sneezing.

abdominal symptoms.

Eye: Flush thoroughly with flowing water for at least ten minutes. If eye contamination is
more than minor, or if symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists seek medical attention.

Inhaled: Remove to fresh air. If irritation persists seek medical attention

Advice to Doctor: Treat symptomatically.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECTION 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Specific Hazards:
Products of this type are non-flammable. In fire situations, when heated to decomposition it may emit carbon
dioxide, acrid smoke and irritating fumes including acrylic monomers. Fire fighters to wear self-contained
breathing apparatus.

Extinguishing Media:

Fire Fighting Procedures:

Hazardous Decomposition products:
Burning can produce irritant and toxic fumes

Hazchem code:
None allocated

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECTION 6 : ACCIDENTAL SPILL AND RELEASE MEASURES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Containment Procedures:

Disposal:
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective equipment to prevent skin and eye
contamination. Scrape/shovel material into bins. Dispose of in accordance with local and
environmental authority guidelines. Do not allow this product to enter drains, stormwater systems
or waterways.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Handling and Storage:
No special storage or transportation requirements apply.
Incompatibilities

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROL AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exposure Standards:
NOHSC Exposure Standard:
There is no specific standard for this product. The standard for respirable crystalline silica and for calcium
carbonate apply if dusts are generated from the dried product:
Crystalline silica: 0.1mg/cubic metre time-weighted average (TWA) measured as a respirable dust over a
shift. Keep exposures to these dusts as low as practicable.

Engineering Controls:
Engineering controls and work practices should aim to minimise direct contact with skin.
Work areas should be cleaned regularly by damp sweeping or vacuuming.
Wash work clothes regularly.
Ventilation:
Mechanical exhaust ventilation not required where adequate natural ventilation is available. When dry dust is
created, exhaust ventilation may be required to ensure exposure standards are not exceeded.

Personal Hygene:

Eye Protection:
Safety spectacles with side shields or face shield and coverall goggles with direct ventilation (AS/NZS 1336)
should be worn if a risk of eye contact exists.

Skin Protection:
Direct skin contact should be avoided by wearing long sleeved shirts and long trousers, a cap or hat, and
PVC gloves (AS 2161). Always wash hands before smoking, eating, drinking or using the toilet. Wash
contaminated clothing and other protective equipment before storing or re-using.

Respiratory Protection:
Not usually required when using wet product. If dust is generated from dried product an approved particulate
respirator conforming to Australian Standards AS/NZS 1715 abd 1716 should be worn, particularly if working
in a work area without good natural ventilation. Respirators should be correctly fitted, maintained in good
condition and kept in clean storage when not in use. Replaceable filters and cartrdiges should be replaced
regularly in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.

Smoking and Other Dusts:

SECTION 11: TOXICOLOGICAL AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL DATA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acute Effects:
Acute Toxicity: no direct data available for this or similar products. The following information is based on the
toxicity profiles of a number of acrylic emulsions that are similar in composition to the acrylic polymer used in this
product.

Acute Data for acrylic polymer emulsion ingredient:
Oral LD50 - rat: >5000mg/kg
Dermal LD50 - rabbit: >5000mg/kg
Skin irritation - rabbit: practically non-irritating
Eye irritation - rabbit: inconsequential irritation.

Long Term Effects:
Repeated inhalation of respirable crystalline silica can cause scarring of the lung (silicosis), and chronic
bronchitis, and may increase the risk of lung cancer, scleroderma (thickening of the connective tissue) and
kideny disease. No cancer risk is known in the occupational setting from use of this or similar products.
There is ongoing debate in medical literature as to whether inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust in
excess of the NOHSC occupational standard for respirable crystalline silica poses any identifiable risk of lung
cancer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECTION 12: ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ecotoxicity: This product has not been tested. However the physical and chemical
nature of the product and toxicological data on ingredients indicate that this product is
relatively low risk.
Mobility in soil : No data available
Persistence and Degradabilty: No data available
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECTION 13: DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
