SECTION 2 鈥? COMPOSITION INFORMATION
************************************************************************
Chemical Name Percent by Weight CAS#
Proprietary natural food acidulant 100% 77-92-9
SECTION 3 鈥? HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
************************************************************************
Appearance & Odor: White, granular crystals (like salt or sugar); no odor.
Emergency Overview: Eye contact with the material inside AR-10 cartridges may cause
transient pain and irritation. Skin contact may cause mild irritation if not washed off.
Breathing dust will cause irritation to mucous membranes. This material is not toxic鈥攊t
is a Food Grade organic acid approved for direct addition to food鈥攂ut ingestion of the
concentrated material may cause stomach upset.
Fire & Explosion Hazards: The acidulant will not burn or support combustion, but
under optimum conditions the dust can be explosive in air. Decomposition at high
temperatures can produce carbon monoxide.
Primary Route(s) of Exposure: Eye contact with spatters of the working solution; skin
contact with the working solution.
Inhalation 鈥? Acute Effects: Although unlikely, inhalation of dust will cause a mild,
transient irritation leading to a sneeze.
Skin Contact 鈥? Acute Effects: Skin contact with the dry material or the working solution
made from it may cause a mild, transient irritation if it is not washed off.

SECTION 3 鈥? HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION (cont.)
************************************************************************
Eye Contact 鈥? Acute Effects: Eye contact with the working solution will cause a
transient irritation until it is flushed out. Although unlikely, eye contact with dust will
cause a mild, transient irritation causing the production of tears.
Ingestion 鈥? Acute Effects: Ingestion of more than a spoonful (unlikely because of the
sour taste) may cause a mild, transient stomach upset. Ingestion of the working
concentrate will have no bad effects.
SECTION 4 鈥? FIRST AID MEASURES
************************************************************************
Inhalation First Aid: Remove affected persons from the area to fresh air.
Skin Contact First Aid: Immediately remove clothing from the affected area and wash
skin with soap and water. Wash clothes before reuse.
Eye Contact First Aid: Immediately irrigate eyes with flowing water for five minutes
while holding eyes open. Contact lenses should be removed before or during flushing.
Ingestion First Aid: Immediately give large amounts of water or milk of magnesia. Do
not induce vomiting.
Medical Conditions Aggravated: None known.
Note to Physician: none
SECTION 5 鈥? FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Upper/Lower Explosion Limits: UEL = Not Available/LEL = 8% Optimum = 65%
Extinguishing Media: No restrictions.
Fire Fighting Procedures: No special procedures indicated.
Fire & Explosion Hazards: The acidulant will not burn or support combustion, but
under optimum conditions the dust can be explosive in air. Decomposition at high
temperature can produce carbon monoxide.
Hazardous Products of Decomposition and/or Combustion: Decomposition at high
temperatures can produce carbon monoxide.

SECTION 6 鈥? ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
************************************************************************
If the dry material is spilled, sweep up and discard in ordinary trash. If the working
solution is spilled, soak up with paper or other absorbent and dispose in ordinary trash.
Residue can be flushed to the drain. Do not dump larger amounts into any sewers, on the
ground, or into any body of water.
SECTION 7 鈥? HANDLING AND STORAGE
************************************************************************
Handling: Protect from rips and tears.
Storage: Store in clean, dry place.
General Comments: Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty since
they retain product residues (dust, solids); observe all warnings and precautions listed for
this product.
SECTION 8 鈥揚ERSONAL PROTECTION/ EXPOSURE CONTROL
************************************************************************
Respiratory Protection: Use a dust mask if there is dust.
Skin Protection: Use rubber or plastic gloves when mixing and pouring the working
solution.
Eye Protection: Use goggles or safety glasses when mixing and using the working
solution.
Ventilation Protection: General ventilation is sufficient.
Other Protection: Eye wash fountains, or other means of washing the eyes with a gently
flow of cool to tepid tap water, should be readily available in all areas where this material
is handled or stored. Water should be supplied through insulated and heat-traced lines to
prevent freeze-ups in cold weather.
Exposure Limits:
PEL: Not Established; limit dust exposure to 15 mg/m3
TLV: Not Established; limit dust exposure to 15 mg/m3
