HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION: (Continued)
Chronic Effects
None established for formulated product.
Metribuzinr: Two-year feeding studies with rats (25, 35, 100, and 300 ppm) and dogs (25, 100, 1500 ppm)
resulted in a no effect level of 100 ppm. There were no indications of carcinogenic effects in the rat or dog study,
or in mice fed a at 20, 800 and 3200 ppm for 2 years. A three 鈥? generation study in rats (35, 100, and 300 ppm)
showed no influence on reproduction. In tests on rabbits at 15, 45 and 135 mg/kg/day and rats at 15, 50, and 100
mg/kg/day, metribuzin had no embryotoxic or teratogenic effects. Tests in vitro (Ames, E. Coli), in vivo (Chinese
hamsters, spermatogonia test), and in mice (dominant lethal test) showed no mutagenic activity.
Over Exposure
Significant skin permeation, and systemic toxicity, after contact appears unlikely. There are no reports of human
sensitisation. Based on animal data, long-term exposure by ingestion may cause abnormal liver function with
altered results on blood tests. No adequate epidemiological studies are available for this compound. Increased
susceptibility to the effects of this material may be observed in persons with pre-existing disease of the liver.
First Aid
Eye:
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek Medical attention.
Skin:
In case of contact, immediately wash skin with soap and plenty of water. Wash contaminated clothing before
reuse.
Inhaled:
Avoid breathing dust. If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is
difficult, give oxygen. Seek Medical attention.
Swallowed:
If swallowed, and if more than 15 minutes from a hospital, induce vomiting, preferably using Ipecac Syrup APF.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek Medical attention.
Advice to Doctor
No specific requirements. Treat symptomatically.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport:
Store in the closed, original container in a cool, dry, well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Keep from contact
with fertilisers, fungicides and seeds.
Spills and Disposal:
Review FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS and SAFETY PRECAUTIONS before proceeding with cleanup. Use
appropriate PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT during clean up. Dyke spill. Prevent liquid from entering the
sewers, waterways, or low areas. Shovel or sweep up. DO NOT flush with water. If spill area is on ground near
trees or desirable vegetation, remove the top 50 mm of soil after initial cleanup. Treatment, storage,
transportation, and disposal must be in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations. Triple
rinse the container, then puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or by other approved methods. DO NOT
burn empty containers or product.
Fire/Explosion Hazard:
Not a fire and explosion hazard. Like most organic powders, or crystals, under severe dusting conditions, this
material may form explosive mixtures in air. Evacuate personnel to a safe area. Wear self-contained breathing
apparatus and full protective equipment. Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, dry powder, foam, carbon
dioxide (CO2). On small fires, if area is heavily exposed to fire and if conditions permit, let fire burn itself out since
water may increase the contamination hazard.
Reactivity Data:
Stable at normal temperatures and storage conditions. Decomposition will not occur. Polymerisation will not
occur.
