HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Health Effects:
Acute:
Swallowed: Product is expected to have low toxicity if swallowed.

Eye: Will damage the eyes. Severely irritating. Damage may be
irreversible.

Skin: Will irritate the skin.

Inhaled: Product is expected to have low inhalation hazard.

Chronic: Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium was not carcinogenic, was not
mutagenic, was not teratogenic and did not affect reproduction in
animal studies. Mefenpyr-diethyl showed no mutagenicity,
reproductive toxicity or carcinogenicity in animal studies.

First Aid If poisoning occurs, immediately contact a doctor or Poisons
Information Centre (telephone 13 11 26), and follow the advice
given. Show this Material Safety Data Sheet to a doctor.

Swallowed: Wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Keep patient
at rest and seek medical advice as above.

Eye: Rinse eyes immediately with clean water for at least 15 minutes and
obtain urgent medical aid.

Skin: Carefully remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected areas with
soap and water. Seek medical aid if at all worried.

Inhaled: If inhaled, remove to fresh air and keep at rest. Obtain medical
advice if at all worried.

First Aid Facilities: An eyewash facility should be provided in the workplace.

Advice to Doctor: This product is a severe eye irritant, and can cause irreversible
damage to the eyes. Consultation with an ophthalmologist is
advised. For other routes of exposure treatment should be
symptomatic and supportive after decontamination. If a large
amount has been swallowed, pump out stomach and administer
charcoal and sodium sulphate. Monitor liver and red blood cell
function. There have been no documented cases of poisoning
during manufacture of the active ingredient or formulated product.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Exposure Standards: TLV - TWA for Particulates not otherwise classified (dust) - 10 mg/m3
(ACGIH)

Threshold Limit Value-Time Weighted Average (TLV-TWA) 鈥? the time-
weighted average concentration for a conventional 8-hour workday
and a 40-hour work week, to which it is believed that nearly all
workers may be repeatedly exposed, day after day, without adverse
effect.

Engineering Controls: Control process conditions to avoid contact. Use only in well-
ventilated areas.

Personal Protection: Eyes: Wear safety goggles.
Clothing: Wear cotton overalls buttoned to neck and wrist (or
equivalent clothing), and a washable hat.
Gloves: Wear elbow-length PVC gloves.
Respiratory: Hussar has a low potential for forming dust. However,
when working in a poorly ventilated area, wear a dust
mask.
Other: Wash thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or
smoke until after washing. After each day's use, wash
gloves, goggles and contaminated clothing.

Flammability: Not flammable. Avoid build up of dust as a dust/air mixture can be
explosive.

Storage and
Transport:
Corrosivity Hazards: Not corrosive.

Handling & Storage Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. If
Precautions: product in eyes, wash it out immediately with water. Wash hands
after use. Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-
ventilated area. Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
Keep away from food, drink and animal feed.

Transport: The product is not classified as a Dangerous Good under the
Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and
Rail.

Spills and Disposal:
Spillage or Leak Avoid contact with the spilled material or contaminated surfaces.
Procedures: When dealing with spills wear personal protective clothing and
equipment as described in the PERSONAL PROTECTION section above.
Sweep up spilled material, collect and store in properly labelled,
sealed drums for safe disposal. Avoid creating dust. If spray mixture
is spilled, absorb it in suitable inert absorbent material and collect in
drums as above. Deal with all spillages immediately. If
contamination of drains, streams, watercourses, etc. is unavoidable,
warn the local water authority.

Waste Disposal Triple or (preferably) pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add
Methods: rinsings to spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site.
If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or
designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture
and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill
is available, bury the containers below 500 mm in a disposal pit
specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways,
desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product
should not be burnt. Dispose of waste product via a licensed disposal
contractor to an approved landfill.

Fire/Explosion Hazard:
Extinguishing Media: Water fog, fine water spray, foam, dry agent or carbon dioxide.

Special Fire Fighting Fire fighters should wear full protective gear, including self-contained
Procedures: breathing apparatus (AS/NZS 1716). Toxic decomposition products
may be produced in a fire. Keep unnecessary people away. Use water
spray to cool fire-exposed containers. Bund area to prevent
contamination of water sources. Dispose of fire control water and
spillage later.

Reactivity Hazards: Stable under normal conditions.

Mefenpyr-diethyl:
Mefenpyr-diethyl was not toxic to birds, earthworms or activated
sludge. It has low toxicity to aquatic organisms and is practically non-
toxic to honey bees.
Other:
The active ingredient breaks down in soil mostly by microbial
degradation.
DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with this product
or the used containers.

Special Precautions / Protect eyes when handling this product.
Comments: Small amounts or very low concentrations can damage non-target
vegetation.
