Inhalation: In general nickel compounds are respiratory irritants and can cause pneumonitis if the exposure is severe. Certain
individuals may develop respiratory sensitivity to nickel, characterized by asthma-like symptoms.
Dermal/Eye Contact: Mild irritant to the skin and eyes. Repeated contact with nickel can cause a form of dermatitis (nickel itch).
Other: Both nickel and silicon have relatively low oral toxicity.
