membranes and upper respiratory tract. Toxic. Irritant. Possible sensitizer. May cause allergic reaction by
inhalation or skin contact. May cause discoloration of the skin. Readily absorbed through skin. Exposure can
cause nausea, dizziness, headache, dermatitis and pulmonary edema. Effects may be delayed. Possible carcinogen.
Possible mutagen.
SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult
give oxygen. Call a physician.
EYES CONTACT: Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Assure
adequate flushing by separating eyelids with fingers. Call a physician.
SKIN CONTACT: Immediately wash skin with soap and copious amounts of water while removing contaminated
clothing and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
INGESTION: Wash mouth out with water and consult a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person.
SECTION 5 - FIRE - FIGHTING MEASURES
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water spray. Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, or
appropriate foam. Do not use solid water stream; may spread
fire. Heat may build enough pressure to rupture closed
containers spreading fire. Use water spray/fog for cooling.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: If excess smoke or fumes are encountered, wear self-
contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to
prevent contact with skin and eyes.
UNUSUAL FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Emits toxic fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and
nitrogen oxides.
SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
SPILLS OR LEAKS:
............. Evacuate area.
............. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves.
............. Absorb on sand or vermiculite and place in closed containers for disposal.
............. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.
SECTION 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE
