HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Health Effects
Acute -
Not a likely source of exposure.
Swallowed
Acute - Eye Risk of serious damage to eyes, evaporating liquid can cause cold burns.
Acute - Skin May cause cold contact burns.
Acute - Inhaled Inhalation may cause irritation to the respiratory system. Prolonged exposure to vapours
may cause somnelence and narcosis.
Chronic Prolonged exposure to vapours may cause somnelence and narcosis.
First Aid
Swallowed Not a likely source of exposure.
Eye Flood eyes with plenty of water for 20 minutes, holding eyelids open. If irritation occurs
seek medical advice.
Skin For minor burns only. Remove from contaminated area and remove any tight clothing
which might impair circulation. Rewarm using luke warm water - not hotter than blood
temperature (37 deg C). DO NOT REWARM RAPIDLY. Use cold tap water if luke warm
water is not available. Cover area with loose, dry, sterile dressing and seek medical
advice. If a significant area of the body is affected, do NOT attempt to treat patient.
Transport patient to hospital at once and seek urgent medical attention.
Inhaled Remove affected person from contaminated area and seek medical advice. If not
breathing apply artificial respiration and seek urgent medical advice.
First Aid
Eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available for emergency use.

Info. ppm (LPG).
LPG is a simple asphyxiant which, when present in an atmosphere in high
concentrations, leads to a reduction of oxygen concentration by displacement or
dilution.
Eng. Controls Provide sufficient ventilation to keep airborne levels below the exposure limit. Where
vapours or mists are generated, particularly in enclosed areas, and natural ventilation is
inadequate, a flame proof exhaust ventilation system is required. Refer to AS 1940 -
The storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids and AS 2430 - Explosive
gas atmospheres for further information concerning ventilation requirements.
Personal Protection
Protective Equip. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes, and avoid breathing vapours or
mists. When exposure is likely, personal protective equipment in a
combination appropriate to the degree and nature of exposure, should be
selected from the following list:-
(1) Eye protection
(2) PVC gloves
(3) PVC apron and sleeves, or full PVC covering
(4) PVC or rubber boots
Where the concentration of vapour or mist is expected to approach the
exposure limit, the following additional equipment is recommended:-
(1) Short elevated exposures, eg spillage - goggles and correct
respiratory protection should be worn.
NB. If the vapour/mist concentrations exceed the exposure limit
by more than 10 times, air supplied apparatus should be used.
(2) For prolonged elevated exposures - Full face air
supplied or self contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
CONTAMINATION
If contamination occurs, change clothing and discard internally
contaminated gloves and footwear. Launder contaminated clothing before
reuse.
Observe good personal hygiene.
Flammability
Fire Hazards Product is Highly Flammable.
Isolate from sources of heat, naked flames, sparks and oxidising materials. Take
precautions against discharges of static electricityEarth and bond all process equipment
including tanks and drums. Ensure ventilation is adequate to prevent build up of
explosive atmosphere. Refer to AS 1940 - Storage and handling of flammable and
combustible liquids and AS 2865 - Safe working in a confined space, for more specific
information on these subjects.
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport
Storage Store in a well ventilated place away from ignition sources, oxidizing agents foodstuffs
Precautions and clothing. Keep containers closed when not in use. Take precautions against static
electricity discharges.
Transport Classified as a Dangerous Good (Class 3) according to the Australian Code for the
Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail.

Method
Spills and Disposal
Spills & Disposal Spill may be detected by the smell of the stenching agent - liquid will vaporise
immediately. Evacuate area and extinguish or remove sources of ignition to a distance
where gas detectors indicate a gas concentration of less than 5% of the LEL. Turn off
power supplies and shut off source of leak if safe to do so. Wear appropriate protective
clothing, and avoid inhaling the gas. Allow gas to disperse - monitor regularly with gas
detectors until gas has dispersed. The gas is heavier than air - do not allow it to enter
drains or sewers.
Disposal Dispose of according to relevant local, state and federal regulations.
Fire/Explosion Hazard
Fire/Explos. Highly flammably gas. Keep storage tanks, pipelines, fire exposed surfaces etc cool with
Hazard water spray. Shut off any leak if safe to do so and remove sources of re-ignition. Do not
extinguish burning gas until gas supply has been cut off. After the gas supply has been
isolated an assessment of the circumstances will be necessary to determine whether to
extinguish the fire, at the risk of subsequent reignition and explosion or to allow the fire
to burn out with the risk of heat radiation and fire spreading to other materials.
Extinguishing If the fire is to be extinguished use dry powder for the burning gas and agents as
Media appropriate for the other burning materials.
Hazardous
Distinct gas odour.
Reaction
