SUBSTANCE DISPOSAL
Oxidize the compound with nitric acid. Boil to remove oxides of
nitrogen. Add hydrochloric acid to a concentration of 2-4%. Cool.
Add excess sodium sulfite slowly, precipitating the element. Let
mixture stand overnight. Boil to coagulate the precipitate, then
filter and wash. Dispose of filtrate and precipitate in a
hazardous landfill site. Observe all federal, state, and local
environmental regulations.
